Basic Trope: A character can dodge bullets.
- Straight: Bob pulls out a gun and shoots Alice, but she simply dodges the bullet.
- Exaggerated:
- Downplayed: Alice dodges a crossbow bolt.
- Justified:
- Bob is firing Painfully Slow Projectiles.
- Alice has Super-Speed and Super-Reflexes.
- Alice moved out of the way after Bob aimed, but before he pulled the trigger.
- Inverted:
- Bullet Dodges You
- Bob aims poorly, and Alice ends up dodging into the bullet.
- Subverted: Alice tries to dodge, but the bullet still hits her.
- Double Subverted: Except she only faked getting hit, and she sucker punches Bob as soon as he lets his guard down.
- Parodied: The scene seems to go into Bullet Time... until it's revealed that the bullet really is moving that slowly, and Alice simply walks around it.
- Zig-Zagged: Alice dodges the bullet, but then gets hit by the next bullet, except she only faked getting hit, but then a third bullet hits her for real.
- Averted:
- No one tries to dodge bullets.
- No one uses ranged weapons.
- Enforced: The author wants to show off Alice's Super-Speed and Super-Reflexes.
- Lampshaded: "How is that possible? The bullet should be faster than you!"
- Invoked: ???
- Exploited: ???
- Defied: Bob surrenders or runs away to avoid a fight he can't win, knowing Alice will just dodge his bullets.
- Discussed: "Dodging bullets is virtually impossible for an ordinary human. However, Alice here is no ordinary human".
- Conversed: ???
- Implied: The camera shows Bob shooting while Alice is offscreen. The camera then shows Alice is unharmed and has closed the distance to Bob.
- Deconstructed: Alice can dodge a few bullets at once. However, once she's faced with a full squad of Mooks with assault rifles, she stands no chance.
- Reconstructed: Alice learns to use her superpowers for stealth to avoid confrontations where she's vastly outnumbered, so she only ever has to dodge a bullet or two in a given situation.
- Played for Laughs: ???
- Played for Drama: ???
