Basic Trope: Turning an Eldritch Abomination or god into a pawn in a plan.

  • Straight: Bob manages to get Char'ith'ica to do something which furthers his scheme.
  • Exaggerated:
    • Bob gets several Abominations playing off one another at once, all of which play right into his plan.
    • Bob tricks Char'ith'ica into becoming his servant.
  • Downplayed: Bob gets Char'ith'ica to agree to do something, knowing it will benefit both of them.
  • Justified:
  • Inverted: Bob willingly goes with an abomination's plan, making himself a pawn to them.
    • Char'ith'ica has no power to affect humanity but bluffs them into serving her.
  • Subverted: It looks like Char'ith'ica will do it... only to turn against Bob, and kill him.
    • Char'ith'ica was going to do the exact same thing without Bob's intervention anyway. Changing her actions to spite him would be letting herself actually be influenced by a mortal for no good reason.
  • Double Subverted: ... which was all a part of Bob's plan.
  • Parodied: Bob literally scams Char'ith'ica by getting him into an obvious pyramid scheme.
  • Zig Zagged: Bob manages to get Char'ith'ica into his plan, but Ali'thi'ca doesn't fall for it. However, Di'thil'ith does.
  • Averted:
    • Bob doesn't deal with any sort of abomination.
    • Char'ith'ica isn't duped by Bob at all.
  • Enforced: "We need to make it clear that even an Eldritch Abomination can be manipulated, to make them stop looking too over-powered."
  • Lampshaded: "You'd think that with someone as powerful as that, they'd see through it."
  • Invoked: The Eldest God tolerates mortal life and ensures it exists specifically because he wants his children to be humbled by being manipulated by them occasionally every few aeons.
  • Exploited: ???
  • Defied: Alice, who is trying to stop Bob's plan, decides to warn Char'ith'ica beforehand.
  • Discussed: ???
  • Conversed: ???
  • Deconstructed: Bob may be smarter than Char'ith'ica, but the thing about Eldritch Abominations is that they're usually pretty big. Char'ith'ica promptly reminds Bob of this by killing him and taking back whatever it lost in the scam off Bob's corpse.
  • Reconstructed: Bob, aware of this, makes sure to be in a position where Char'ith'ica can't do any harm after the scam.
  • Implied: Archmage Bob entering the same dimension as Char'ith'ica causes her to drop even fights with a fellow Eldritch Abomination and start charging towards him in a rage. Clearly something about him or that he did managed to really piss her off.

Woah, wait, hold up. Did You Just Scam Cthulhu?
