Basic Trope: A person kills and decapitates someone, then either shows their victim's head to someone else, or puts it in a place where it can easily be seen.
- Straight: Larry murders Hank and presents his head to Maya.
- Exaggerated: Larry sees displaying severed heads as an appropriate response to any crime, to the point where he has a whole gallery of tax evaders' heads on pikes.
- Downplayed: Larry presents Maya with an easily recognizable item Hank would never willingly part with. The fact that he has it proves to her that Hank is dead.
- Inverted: Larry throws away the head and puts the rest of the body on display.
- Defied: Hank was wearing armor that included neck protection. Larry can't figure out how to remove it, so he has to give up on cutting off the head.
- Hank's head explodes, leaving nothing left to display
- Parodied: Larry presents Hank's head to Maya hoping to intimidate her... only to discover the head actually belongs to Hank's twin brother Jimmy, who Maya hates and was already planning to kill anyway.
- Hank's head is realistically heavy and Larry struggles with its weight when showing it to Maya.
- Subverted: The head turns out to be fake. It was just an unusually morbid prank meant to scare Maya. A very alive Hank shows up moments later and reveals he was in on it.
- Played For Laughs: Not only is Hank's head still alive, it's still talking and treats being decapitated as a mild inconvenience.
- Larry didn't even kill Hank. He just found the head lying on the ground and claimed responsibility hoping it would make him look tough.
- Larry realizes he's displaying the wrong head. The intimidating effect is then ruined by him rummaging around trying to find the right one.
