In the end, she decides that she would rather have an emotionally healthy but sexually stunted relationship with Bob rather than being repeatedly disappointed by those who share her kink.

However, after a short but intense fling during which they eat, sleep, live, breathe and sex TV Tropes, they discover that they have little else in common besides their fetish. They part ways emotionally broken, without hopes of ever being able to express their kink again.
- Reconstructed: Same situation as the above, except that after a troubled search to find an appropriately kinky partner, with a few failed relationships along the way, Alice finds a partner who shares both her kink and other traits and interests vital to their compatibility.
- Implied: Alice angsts about telling Bob about her fetish, but they're still together after she does so.
