Basic Trope: A character can magically control people using their voice.

  • Straight: Any order Bob issues, people with unwillingly obey.
  • Exaggerated: Bob can order people to do things that should be logically impossible, like no longer be affected by gravity.
  • Downplayed:
    • Bob's orders wear out over time.
    • If someone is aware of Bob's abilities, it may be possible for them to resist it.
  • Justified: Bob turns out to be Bella, who is a siren who had dried out her tail.
  • Inverted: Bob has to obey any order anyone issues.
  • Subverted: Bob was lying about his ability. Everyone's seemingly involuntary obedience to his commands was actually just the Placebo Effect.
  • Double Subverted: ...except the "Placebo Effect" thing was just a cover up so Bob could continue to get away with secretly commanding people.
  • Parodied: Bob sneezes, and all of a sudden the entire world sneezes.
  • Zig-Zagged: ???
  • Averted: Bob - nor any other character - can magically control people with their voice.
  • Enforced: "You're creating a One Person, One Power show? Make one of them be able to force people to do whatever they say!"
  • Lampshaded: ???
  • Invoked: Bob deliberately seeks out a charm or potion that'll enable him to be able to command people with his voice.
  • Exploited: Bob is ''Emperor Evulz'' himself, and he uses this to get people to work for his army.
  • Defied: Since being able to order people can easily be misused, Bob was legally mandated to undergo a procedure that rendered him unable to speak.
  • Discussed: ???
  • Conversed: ???
  • Implied: Charlie warns Alice, that no matter what, she shouldn't hear Bob's voice, however no specifics are given.
  • Deconstructed: Bob feels depressed and incapable of love because of his ability - after all, if you can force anyone to do whatever you want, how can you ever know when someone's being genuine with you?
  • Reconstructed: However, he realized that his voices effects are useless on video, and he uses that to communicate instead.
  • Plotted a Good Waste: ???
  • Played for Laughs: Bob only uses his abilities to make people do silly things, like the chicken dance.
  • Played for Drama: ???
  • Played for Horror: Bob uses his abilities for rape, murder, and robbery. No prison can contain him, because he just orders the guards to let him go.
  • Untwisted: ???

Now, we command you to go back to Compelling Voice.
