Basic Trope: The lead trio wears red, green (or yellow), and blue to distinguish themselves.

  • Straight: Alice wears her red dress most days, Bob wears a blue sweater and blue jeans, and Claire wears a green t-shirt and skirt combo.
  • Exaggerated: Everything they own is their color, even their hair and eye color too.
  • Downplayed:
    • Alice wears pink, alongside with/as opposed to red. Bob wears violet, alongside with/as opposed to blue. Claire wears cyan, alongside with/as opposed to green.
    • Their main, iconic outfits are red, blue, and green, but they also wear other outfits.
  • Justified: Those are their favorite colors.
  • Inverted: Alice wears purple, Bob wears orange, and Claire wears yellow.
  • Subverted: One day, Claire wears a blue dress...
  • Double Subverted: ...and immediately spills sauce on it, forcing her to get back into her green ensemble.
  • Parodied: The trio trade colors for the day, and everyone else freaks out because now they can't tell who is who.
  • Zig Zagged: The trio always switch to different colors of each days.
  • Averted: There are no Color-Coded Characters.
  • Enforced: "We need to make sure that people will recognize them easily!"
  • Lampshaded: "Primary colors rock!"
  • Invoked: Alice, Bob, and Claire wear bold primary colors to tell each other apart easier.
  • Exploited: When Bob, Alice, and/or Claire go undercover, the Big Bad knows who they are because of their colorful uniforms.
  • Defied: "I won't wear any of those colors! I like black more!"
  • Discussed: "Why do they always wear those outfits?"
  • Conversed: “Why do trios in shows wear red, blue, and green all the time? I see it way too often.”
  • Implied: Someone founds a red purse with the name "Alice", a blue cap with the name "Bob", and a green umbrella with the name "Claire".
