Basic Trope: A character is fond of being around another character against his/her will.

  • Straight: Danny doesn't like being around with Summer, but when he's alone, he misses her.
  • Exaggerated:
    • Danny does whatever he can to avoid Summer, but he breaks down into tears when he's not around her.
    • Once per Episode, Danny gets lonely whenever he's not around with Summer.
  • Downplayed: Although not depressed about it, Danny seems to grow fond of Summer's presence.
  • Justified:
    • Danny thought that Summer's bubbly personality had triggered his will to become more open to people.
    • Without Summer, Danny is truly and utterly alone.
  • Inverted:
    • Danny doesn't like being alone, but when he's around Summer, he misses his solitude.
    • Danny keeps on talking about how great Summer is or trying to hang out with her. But when he does hang out with her, she annoys him.
  • Subverted:
    • It were to look like that Danny will be happy to see Summer, but when she's around him again, he becomes irritated.
    • Summer speculates that Danny must miss her, but he enjoys not having her around.
  • Double Subverted:
    • ...But when she leaves again, Danny misses her again.
    • Only for him to admit that deep down he misses Summer.
  • Parodied: ???
  • Zig Zagged: Danny can't decide whether or not he misses being around Summer.
  • Averted:
    • Danny doesn't miss Summer whatsoever and continues to enjoy his solitude.
    • Danny enjoys Summer's presence and always misses her when she's gone.
  • Enforced: The writer wants to teach the audience that no matter how much a person loves being alone, they will soon miss their presence.
  • Lampshaded:
Summer: "You miss me, don't you Danny?"
  • Invoked: ???
  • Exploited: ???
  • Defied: Danny doesn't want to feel depressed about missing Summer, so he went to focus on his own business.
  • Discussed: "Once you're surrounded by a person, you hate it, but when that person's gone, you hate it even more."
  • Conversed: "Is Danny going to be truly friends with Summer now? I heard that in the next few episodes that he will."
  • Deconstructed: See Zig Zagged. Because Danny couldn't decide whether he misses Summer, Summer gets fed up with his behavior and stops being his friend, leaving him all alone for the rest of his life.

Why do I miss natter, bad grammar, inflammatory posts, and this main page so much? Just why?
