Basic Trope: A character sells candid photographs or videos of someone else.

  • Straight: Bob takes candid photos of Alice naked and sells them.
  • Exaggerated:
    • The entire school get their hands on photos of Alice and sell them.
    • Bob gets naked photos of every student and teacher in school and sells them.
    • Bob becomes a billionaire from selling the photos.
    • The school administrators themselves sell the photo, seeing it as a fundraising opportunity, and even make Alice work as a nude model and pose for more photos.
  • Downplayed:
    • Bob takes pictures of Alice in her underwear.
    • Bob takes pictures of Alice in a swimsuit.
    • Bob takes pictures of Alice in ugly sweatpants.
  • Justified:
    • Bob is a perverted Jerkass.
    • Alice had previously taken and published nude photos of several of her classmates for profit, including a now vengeful Bob, who figures this is an opportunity to exact Laser-Guided Karma.
  • Inverted:
    • Bob blackmails Alice, forcing her to give him money in exchange for the photos.
    • Alice, a pin-up girl, pays Bob to take nude photos of her and spread them around.

    • Bob has candid nudes of Alice and can't make up his mind about whether to release them.
  • Averted: Bob never gets nude photos of Alice.
  • Enforced: The episode is Ripped from the Headlines about a case of revenge porn in a local high school.
  • Lampshaded: “Nice photos, Alice.”
  • Invoked: Alice is a Shameless Fanservice Girl who lured Bob into taking nude photos of her to indulge in her lifestyle and get him in trouble.
  • Exploited:
    • Bob gets Alice to leave town in shame.
    • When Bob runs for office on a family values platform, a journalist interviews Alice and learns about what Bob did to her. The journalist either publicises the news or blackmails Bob.

    • Bob finds doing so morally abhorrent and too risky.
    • Bob decides to blackmail Alice with the photos instead.

    • Alice’s abusive father murders her for dishonouring the family and frames Bob.
    • Immoral Journalist Charlie interviews Alice and finds out that Bob spread nudes of Alice around school. He chooses to blackmail Bob instead. Either:
      • Bob has Alice and Charlie killed so he won’t be blackmailed.
      • Alice confronts Charlie and threatens to reveal the story herself. To protect his money flow, Charlie kills Alice.
      • Alice kills Charlie for refusing to publish her story.
  • Played for Horror:
    • Bob is a Serial Rapist and Serial Killer who sells nude photos of his victims on the dark web.
    • Bits of Alice's consciousness are trapped in her photos.
    • Alice kills Bob and becomes a Serial Killer targeting her classmates and Bob’s family.
    • Alice commits suicide. Bob and the other students notice Alice's nude photos have started to develop Slasher Smiles, red eyes, and lost limbs. They start to die in gruesome ways unless they humiliate themselves in a similar way Alice was.
