- Downplayed: The bull saw Bob's red T-shrrt. It's clearly distressed but remains in place.

- The bull was raised and trained, Pavlov-style, to charge at anything red.
- The bull was bio-engineered so that it would be able to see in colors at all.
- The bull is anti-communist.
- The bull was repeatedly mistreated by a man dressed in red.
- The bull cannot comprehend what "red" even is and goes mad trying to figure out what it's supposed to look like.
- Inverted:
- A bull with an open wound falls into a shark tank, and the shark eats the bull.
- A mad bull sees Bob's red T-shirt and relaxes.
- Subverted: The bull seems to be angry... but it was taking deep breaths.
- Double Subverted: It wasn't looking at Bob. When it saw Bob's red T-shirt, it attacks Bob.
- Parodied:
- A farm full of bulls is filled with nothing but red stuff. Crazyness ensues.
- The bull is a Pittsburgh Pirates fan, and attacks Cincinnati Reds fans on sight.
- Zig-Zagged: The bull seems to be angry, but it was taking some deep breaths, but then it sees Bob's red T-shirt and runs towards him, but it runs past Bob and attacks another bull, but then the other bull sees Bob's red T-shirt and attacks him.
- The bull seems to be angry, and runs towards Bob; turns out it's actually not attracted by his red shirt, but by the scent of food in Bob's pocket. Bob is unharmed, though, embarrassingly, his pants are torn off in the "attack".
- Averted: Bulls are treated realistically, with no reaction to simply red things.
- Enforced: "We paid that rancher good money for this bull, and by God, he's gonna charge at that Stop sign!"
- Lampshaded: "You had to wear red to Pamplona, didn't you?"
- Invoked: Alice paints everything red to goad bulls into charging.
