Basic Trope: Fictional bulls are often portrayed as violent, aggressive, and bad-tempered brutes who live for charging things down.

  • Straight: Brock is a violent bull who charges at anyone who angers him the slightest.
  • Exaggerated: Brock is a downright malevolent bull who charges at anything or anyone without any provocation at all.
  • Downplayed: Brock doesn't get angry unless he or his herd is threatened.
  • Justified:
    • It's in Brock's nature to have a short temper.
    • Brock is kept in a state of agitation for bullfighting.
  • Inverted:
    • Brock is a Gentle Giant.
    • Connie is a violent and aggressive cow who charges at whoever angers her.
  • Subverted:
    • Alice and Bob think they're being chased by a bull, but it turns out to be a cow.
    • Brock appears to be charging at Alice and Bob, but it turns out that he was running away because he got startled by a mouse.
  • Double Subverted:
    • For the first one, the cow is merely just there to help Brock, who chases the two moments later.
    • For the second one, Brock may have only been running away from a mouse this time, but he's still very aggressive.
  • Parodied: Brock charges against the nearest person... to Poke the Poodle.
  • Zig-Zagged: Brock sometimes charges at whoever provokes him, but sometimes, he leaves people be even when they annoy him, and it doesn't seem to have a pattern.
  • Averted:
    • There aren't any bulls.
    • Bulls aren't portrayed as particularly aggressive.
  • Enforced: Animal Stereotypes.
  • Lampshaded: "Brock is a bull. Don't mess with him or you'll get the horns."
  • Invoked: Someone wears a red shirt to piss off Brock.
  • Exploited: Brock is hired as a guard animal.
  • Defied: Brock, due to deciding My Species Doth Protest Too Much, then learns that that he is better than the stereotypes of bulls and decides to be a friendly, pacific individual.
  • Discussed: "Are bulls really aggressive?"
  • Conversed: "Why is every bull in fiction aggressive?"
  • Implied: All the humans are afraid of Brock, even the ones who aren't particularly fearful.
  • Played for Laughs: Brock attacks Alice and leaves her with Amusing Injuries.
  • Played for Drama: Brock attacks Alice and leaves her seriously wounded.
