Basic Trope: A significant change in the series formula happens.
- Straight: Alice And Bob reach part 5, and they do a very noticeable change to the series formula.
- Exeggarated: Alice And Bob reach part 50, and they do a change that is so big it becomes a new show altogether.
- Downplayed: Alice and Bob do a slight change in part 3, but it still affects the series noticeably.
- Inverted: The executives add something to the story to keep the trend going in part 4.
- Justified: Alice And Bob have a trend change because the characters themselves are tired of the same thing.
- Subverted: The executives say there will be a big formula break in part 5, but it doesn't happen...
- Double Subverted: ...until it occurs in part 6 ...
- Zigzagged: ...but unfortunately, it changes back to normal in part 7.
- Averted: The series keeps going unchanged.
- Enforced:
- The executives change formulas, so the series stops being stale.
- The aspect in question was so dissonant with current day mores that the Executives decided they HAD to get rid of it.
- Lampshaded: "Wait, I thought this would happen again... why not?"
- Discussed: "It's our fifth adventure! It's obvious things will be different!"
- Defied: The creators say the series will never change.
- Deconstructed: The change leads to They Changed It, Now It Sucks!, and another sequel never comes.
- Reconstructed: 10 years later, it gets Vindicated by History, and the series continues.
