Basic Trope: A character doesn't fit in a fairly upright family.

  • Straight: Alex is a part of a family who are part of an organization of heroes. He's the only member of the family who doesn't care about being a hero, gets into a lot of trouble, and keeps his distance from his family.
  • Exaggerated: Alex is the only member of the family who is a dangerous supervillain.
  • Downplayed: Alex is the only Anti-Hero in his family.
  • Justified:
    • Alex doesn't agree with the ideals and standards of his family.
    • Alex doesn't want anything to do with heroism and would rather follow his own interests.
  • Inverted: Alex is the only good person in a family of evil villains bent on taking over the world.
  • Subverted:
  • Double Subverted:
    • ...or so it seems. Alex was evil the whole time and his plan took a few days after activation to ruin the world.
    • His family may not be good people, but even they find Alex's actions disgusting.
  • Parodied:
    • Alex is the only member of his family who doesn't like chocolate ice cream. Hating chocolate ice cream is treated like a crime by his family.
    • Visual Pun: Alex is also a literal black sheep.
  • Zig Zagged: ???
  • Averted: Alex is upright like his family.
  • Enforced: "We need to introduce the villain, but the show's focused on just this family! I know! We should make a family member evil. How about Alex?"
  • Lampshaded: "Remind me why is Alex still a part of the family."
  • Invoked: ???
  • Exploited: The Big Bad Bob decides to abduct Alex and recruit him into his team of villains.
  • Defied: When Alex was a baby, his family members made sure to teach him how to be a hero, and kept him away from negative influences.
  • Discussed: "Mom? Why isn't Alex a superhero, like the rest of us?"
  • Conversed: ???
  • Implied: Alex is the only member of his family who isn't shown doing good deeds.
