Go To

Basic Trope: A very big dog that is very friendly.

  • Straight: Weighing 75 kilos (165,35 lb), Firulais is very friendly, and is the best friend of Alice, the 3-year-old girl of the family.
  • Exaggerated: Firulais weighs 150 kilos (330,69 lb) , but is a Big Fun that doesn't stop people from having Cuteness Proximity on him.
  • Downplayed: He weighs 60 kilos (132,28 lb), and although he is not particularly affectionate, he is very patient with Alice.
  • Justified :
    • Firulais is a German Shepherd, Newfoundland, Saint Bernard, Standard Poodle or another breed that is like that.
    • Firulais has always received a lot of love, so he has the same amount of love.
  • Inverted: Firulais is either small, bad-tempered, or both.
  • Subverted: When someone comes home, Firulais starts running towards them barking loudly...
  • Double Subverted: ...only to attack them with love!
  • Parodied: When someone comes to the house, Firulais greets them with a tray of cupcakes with the inscription "Be my friend!" that he has made himself.
  • Zig-Zagged: Firulais is normally a good, well-trained dog... except for when mailmen come to the door. But the family manages to train him a bit more for that too. Except on a certain day, when he nearly bit Alice. But it was just once, and Firulais is back to normal afterward.
  • Averted: There are no dogs in the story.
  • Enforced: The creator had a dog of these characteristics when he was little.
  • Lampshaded: “Firulais is like that thanks to all the love under all that fur.”
  • Implied:
  • Invoked: Alice's parents actively look for a big dog, in hopes of finding a friendly one at the same time.
  • Exploited: Evulz comes to Alice's house, and Firulais doesn't stop him due to him being a Big Friendly Dog.
  • Deconstructed: Like with Exploited, Big Friendly Dogs can often prove detrimental due to their bigness or friendliness.
  • Defied: Firulais is big, but wasn't trained to be friendly, as the owners want to be warned of danger.
  • Discussed: ???
  • Conversed: ??
