Basic Trope: A character is unnoticed until the camera pans over to them.
- Straight: Charlie and Bob are in the middle of a discussion, and then the camera pans over to Alice.
- Exaggerated: During the course of the cut, the camera pans over to other off-screen characters who even Alice didn't notice.
- Lampshaded: Charlie and Bob question how they didn't notice Alice.Bob: "Alice! Where'd you come from?"Alice: "I've been standing behind you this whole time!"Charlie: "Huh, how come I didn't notice you then? I was looking right at Bob!"Alice: "Sounds like you might need to get your eyes checked."
- Justified:
- Charlie is near-sighted
- Alice was hiding in a trash can, that was also off-screen.
- Defied: The camera remains steadfastly focused on Charlie and Bob, ignoring Alice's attempts to get noticed.
- Exploited: Alice uses the moment the camera pans to her as a dramatic reveal of crucial information.
