Basic Trope: A video game enemy that steals the player's money, items or equipment.
- Straight: Bob the Knight gets his shield stolen by a Ninja Thief.
- Exaggerated: The Ninja Thief steals everything that Bob owns like money, weapons, armor and even clothing, leaving Bob only with a Goofy Print Underwear.
- Downplayed: The Ninja Thief steals a measly gold coin from Bob, who has hundreds of them.
- Justified: Bob, being a knight, is very wealthy, so naturally the Ninja Thieves would be drawn to him.
- Inverted:
- Bob the Knight uses his own "Steal" ability to take away whatever items the Ninja Thief has in his possession.
- The Ninja Thief has a Poison Mushroom, and he's trying to pass it on to Bob.
- Subverted: Bob encounters a Ninja Thief, but, despite its name, it doesn't have a stealing move at all.
- Double Subverted: The first Ninja Thieves you meet are actually underleveled and don't know how to "Steal" yet. The ones Bob encounters later do.
- Parodied:
- Ninja Thieves are just Blatant Burglars who make Funny Bruce Lee Noises.
- The whole economy of Ninja Thief society is based on stuff that they steal from Bob.
- Zig Zagged: Ninja Thieves come in several variations, each with their own behavior towards stealing: Forest Ninja Thieves don't steal during battle at all, Desert Ninja Thieves only steal money, Snow Ninja Thieves only steal if they are alongside other enemies, Pirate Ninja Thieves steal back what Bob tries to steal from them and so on...
- Averted: The game has no enemy that attempts to steal stuff from the player.
- Enforced: "It would be weird to call them Ninja Thieves and not have them, you know, steal anything."
- Lampshaded: "Hey, that's my shield! Give it back!"
- Invoked: Emperor Evulz hires the Ninja Thieves to steal Bob's equipment, knowing Bob can't fight without it.
- Exploited: Bob finds the hideout of the Ninja Thieves and helps himself to all the things they have stolen.
- Defied: Bob defeats the Ninja Thieves before they can steal anything from him.
- Discussed: "Keep an eye on your belongings. The Ninja Thieves in this area can steal almost anything."
- Conversed: "It would really suck if these guys stole my Infinity +1 Sword. That one was really hard to get."
