Basic Trope: Someone becomes enraged with a product and throws it out the window.

  • Straight: Bob has trouble with his computer and throws it out the window.
  • Exaggerated:
  • Downplayed: Bob can't get his TV remote to work and throws it across the room in frustration.
  • Justified:
  • Inverted:
    • The computer wraps Bob up with the mouse cord or headphones or all the cords in the back and uses them to throw him out the window.
    • Someone outside throws a computer through Bob's window.
  • Subverted: Bob doesn't unplug the computer, so it stops just before hitting the ground.
  • Double Subverted: But then the plug loosens out of the socket and the computer hits the ground.
  • Parodied: Bob finds out that his wife, Alice, is cheating, only married him for his money, and she took the last Oreo. In response, he throws his computer, his television, his microwave, his radio, and his dog out the window.
  • Zig Zagged: ???
  • Averted: Bob doesn't throw the computer out the window.
  • Enforced: Too Incompetent to Operate a Blanket
  • Lampshaded:
    • "I think Bob's having some serious computer trouble..."
    • "I think that might have voided the warranty."
  • Invoked: Charlie put a virus on Bob's computer and is secretly filming for a YouTube video, wanting him to throw the computer out the window.
  • Exploited: When Alice needs a computer, she waits under Bob's window with a mattress to catch the one he throws out.
  • Defied: Alice knows that Bob's temper and his computer illiteracy are a recipe for disaster, so she bolts the window closed.
  • Discussed: ???
  • Conversed: "Was throwing the computer out the window really necessary?"
  • Deconstructed:
    • Bob's computer problem isn't very serious and can be easily fixed - Bob was just too frustrated to check first, and regrets it.
    • The computer lands on someone who happens to be underneath its path, severely injuring or killing them.
  • Played For Drama: Alice cheated on Bob (with his best friend Carl, no less!), and he's (understandably) angry with her, so he throws all her things on the front lawn before presenting her with divorce papers and a "The Reason You Suck" Speech.
