Basic Trope: Someone is very bad at aiming.
- Straight: When Damien uses his slingshot to hit a target, he misses by a wide margin.
- Exaggerated: Damien misses a target that's just a foot away.
- Downplayed: Damien hits the target, but not the bullseye, despite it being close enough that anyone decent at aiming could hit it.
- Justified:
- Damien has bad eyesight.
- The work averts Artistic License – Gun Safety by showing how guns need proper training in order to use effectively. Damien simply never had this training.
- Inverted: Improbable Aiming Skills.
- Subverted: Damien's projectile sails clear over the target. Turns out he was aiming at a different target, farther off.
- Double Subverted: But he misses that, too.
- Parodied:
- The projectile flies towards its target, then abruptly stops and flies in a completely different direction. Damien exasperatedly says, "Not again!"
- Damien somehow misses his target in spite of the fact that the gun he used is a few millimeters in front of it.
- Zig-Zagged: Damien's aiming skills depend on the weapon he's using, and what he's aiming at.
- Averted: Damien's aiming skills are good.
- Enforced: Guns exist in this universe, but would be too effective in the hands of Damien, so the writers need to demonstrate why he couldn't just shoot the bad guys dead.
- Lampshaded: "Why is everyone else so much better at aiming?"
- Invoked: Grant steals Damien's glasses so he can't see or aim as well.
- Exploited: Grant knows that Damien has bad aiming skills, so he stays in his direct line of fire because he knows he won't get hit.
- Defied: Damien installs a scope on his weapon to help him aim better.
- Discussed: "Why do we even let this guy use projectile-based weapons when he can't aim at all?"
Okay, just slowly put your mouse on Amusingly Awful Aim — argh, you missed again!
