Basic Trope: A prequel reveals that the characters knew each other beforehand.
- Straight: Bob Before The Bad, the prequel to Bob Beats The Bad, reveals that Alice and Bob knew most of the other characters before the events of Bob Beats The Bad.
- Exaggerated: Literally every character knows each other in the prequel, including the Red Shirt, the Team Pet, and the talking alien.
- Downplayed: Alice, Bob, Charles, and Diane meet each other in the prequel, but not the other characters.
- Justified: Everyone Went to School Together, and forgot about their first encounters until several years later.
- Inverted: There is a sequel in which the characters all get introduced, and do not appear to have known each other in the first film.
- Subverted: The prequel is set in an Alternate Universe.
- Double Subverted: Which is later retconned into the main continuity through a sequel of the prequel (Bob Before The Bad 2: Bad Revelations) that explains (or at least tries to explain) how the characters forgot about each other before Bob Beats The Bad.
- Parodied: It turns out that the entire cast became conveniently amnesiac through rather mundane accidents in-between the two films.
- Zig Zagged: Bob Beats The Bad gets a tv series which has episodes set both before and after the original movie, with the same characters frequently meeting each other "again" regardless of of the timeline placement of the episode.
- Averted:
- No one knows each other in the prequel.
- The first film does not deal with introductions.
- There is no prequel.
- Enforced: Spinoff Babies
- Lampshaded: "I thought we didn't know each other yet."
- Invoked: Retcon
- Exploited: ???
- Defied: ???
- Discussed: ???
- Conversed: "Why does everyone already know each other in this prequel? I thought they didn't meet until the first film!"
"Let's meet the gang back at the main page!" "Thanks, but I've Already Met Everyone."
