Basic Trope: Men think about nothing but sex.
- Straight:
- Bob, Bill, Fred, and Joe, the men of the town, regularly look at porn and go out to chase women, who chastise them for their lack of interest in the finer things.
- Teacher Alice wears a short skirt in class, and all the boys immediately pay attention.
- Alice has a Wardrobe Malfunction in town, leading to many men coming to ogle and take pictures instead of helping.
- Alice comments Bob is the first man she's met who pays attention to her face.
- Exaggerated:
- Every single man in the entire world breaks down into thinking constantly about women and losing focus on the rest of life altogether, and willingly have sex (or even rape) every single female (sometimes male) they come across.
- Alice is giving a speech to Congress, yet all the male politicians and male civilians who watch her via livestream are only thinking about her short skirt.
- When Alice has a Wardrobe Malfunction in Washington, all the men there come over to ogle and take pictures, including the priests, politicians, cops, young boys, old men, and all of her male relatives.
- It doesn't matter if the women of the cast are ugly, old or even sexually mature. Having a vagina is enough to have the guys drooling over them or trying to get in their pants.
- Downplayed:
- Most men in the world think dirty thoughts, but never outright state them, nor do they go to extremes to have sex.
- The work has a Minimalist Cast and mostly revolves around One or two guys who are the only perverts.
- Most men are portrayed as needing sex, meanwhile women enjoy sex but are capable of functioning without it.
- The men are pervy but know when to keep it in their pants and have lines they won’t cross.
- Justified:
- The main characters are part of a dying race with almost no females left, and the men are desperate to save the species.
- In the world where the main characters live in, not wanting or being interested in sex often means there is something physically or mentally wrong.
- Inverted: Men typically get squickish about such subjects and avoid them like plague.
- Gender Inverted: All Women Are Lustful.
- Subverted:
- Bob, Bill, Fred, and Joe only act perverted because it's socially expected for men to think about nothing but sex.
- Bob, Bill, Fred, and Joe turn out to be gay...
- Double Subverted:
- ...except they aren't; they just pretend to be gay because it lets them get closer to women.
- Bob, Bill, Fred, and Joe don't think/care that much about sex, except in private.
- Bob, Bill, Fred, and Joe are gay, and they may not act perverted around women, but engage in more activity than any of the women in the cast.
- Parodied: A (comparatively) demure and average-looking woman addresses a group of men; all have humorously visible Raging Stiffies or metaphors.
- Zig Zagged:
- The men's level of perversion fluctuates throughout the series. Sometimes they're very perverted, but they verge on being total prudes at other times.
- Bob is a pervert, Bill is not, Fred is a Covert Pervert and Joe is a prude.
- Averted:
- The men are asexual or sex just isn't the focus of the story.
- Some men and women are perverts, but not all.
- Enforced:
- "We can't have guys squicking out on sex with this porno."
- "NO! I want to see the men always acting like perverts, and the women to hate sex, because the audience finds it funny!"
- Lampshaded: "Oh, come on! This is serious, guys! We don't have time for that..." says the Action Girl in a Stripperific costume while surrounded by men with nosebleeds.
- Invoked: Alice believes firmly in this trope and therefore wears a very plain outfit that doesn't emphasize her figure to avoid lewd comments.
- Exploited: Lysistrata Gambit, Show Some Leg, and I Have Boobs, You Must Obey!.
- Defied:
- Bob, Bill, Fred, and Joe refuse to let their sex drives control their lives, even though they don't deny their existence.
- All the men are revealed to be asexual.
- Discussed: “Is every man in this world a sick perv?!”
- Conversed: “Why is it that in TV Land, everyone with a penis uses it as a brain?”
- Implied: When Alice has a Wardrobe Malfunction in Washington, many men in the background sneak a few glances at her.
- Deconstructed:
- Men are so easily Distracted by the Sexy that all it takes for a villainess to dispatch them is some revealing garb, making women the only ones able to stop any reasonably attractive female villain.
- The men are rapists and proceed to turn the world into a No Woman's Land.
- The perverted nature of all men leads them to all get away with sexual crimes because they say "I'm a Man; I Can't Help It".
- Charlie is clearly very sexual and likes pretty women, but fears that others will judge him as yet another pervert who only views women as nothing more than sex objects if he openly expresses it like men are typically assumed to be, despite never actually fitting the stereotype. This leads Charlie to harbor deep guilt and self-loathing concerning his sexuality. He ends up internalizing the belief that his sexual attraction towards women is inherently predatory and degrading to them, and that he can only truly respect the opposite sex by repressing his sexuality.
- Reconstructed:
- Bob and all his buddies eventually understand that perversion doesn't make them better men, thus they start to learn how to master their own drives.
- All Men Are Perverts, but All Women Are Lustful too. Thus, it's possible to come to an understanding.
- Men are all clearly very sexual, but most are decent enough people to prevent their sexuality from causing problems for others.
- Played For Laughs:
- Bob and his gang attempt to score some chicks each episode, often failing.
- Beautiful and young Alice is hit on by every man she meets in Washington, even the President himself!
- Played For Drama: The beautiful Alice is sexually harassed by all the men she meets who only think of her as a sex object.
- Played For Horror: Men are rapists, and of the "play with your food and clean up after yourself" type, too.
Ooh, there's a hot girl hanging out there! Quickly, boys! Back to All Men Are Perverts!
