Basic Trope: When a child (who isn't necessarily a minor) abuses their parents.
- Straight: Alice often yells at her parents for the most mundane of things.
- Exaggerated:
- Alice believes that her kind is superior to her ancestor species/gods and decides to declare war on them.
- Alice regularly beats up her parents, causing severe injuries to them.
- Alice steals her father's credit card, and goes shopping. This leaves her father highly indebted.
- Alice treats her parents as little more than her servants.
- Alice is just 5 years old, and is not only cruel to her parents, but also to her adult siblings, her teacher, and every single adult she encounters.
- The same even goes for teenagers.
- Even worse, she actually has friends of her age that are equally as abusive to adults, and they outright help her in what she does!
- Self-Made Orphan
- Downplayed: Alice is mostly nice to her parents, but occasionally has a very brutal argument with them.
- Justified:
- Alice hates one or both of their parents.
- Alice's parents used to be abusive to her, and she seeks revenge.
- Alice's parents are evil.
- Alice is inherently evil.
- Alice's parents don't care for Alice.
- Alice is a Spoiled Brat asking for something, and her parents don't listen to her.
- Inverted:
- Subverted: Alice seems to be yelling at her parents... but she's just calling the parents from another room.
- Double Subverted: But when they show up, she grabs her mother's arms and pulls on it so hard, it is pulled out of its socket. She does the same to her father.
- Parodied: ???
- Averted: Alice is very nice to her parents.
- Abuse is never brought up or implied in the story.
- Enforced:
- "We need to show that anyone, even kids, can be abusive."
- Some cases of Kids Versus Adults, especially where they meet Dysfunctional Family or Antagonistic Offspring.
- Maria (who's supposed to portray Alice) only cares about her real parents, anyone else?
- Lampshaded: "I've always been yelled at by Alice, she almost seems crazy!"
- Invoked: Alice begins to suspect something of her parents, and thus treats them badly.
- Exploited: ???
- Defied: Alice decides to behave a little more softly against her formerly evil parents after they had a Heel–Face Turn.
- Discussed: "That parent looks so bad, she's certainly abused, perhaps by her own kids."
- Conversed: "Why is every child in fiction seemingly abusive to their parents?"
Alice: You better go back to Abusive Offspring right at this VERY instant!!
