Pantheon / GUAN White Light

Go To

As part of its goal to ensure life never goes extinct, The Life Entity has assigned guardians for the variety of lifeforms in the Trope Pantheon. Though it can be rather manipulative, the White Light has a mostly protective role.

The area is a field with white light ever present and glowing in the background, while the members of the White Light congregate at a massive gazebo. The White Lantern Central Battery can be seen as a sort of second sun for the field. I case of emergencies, members can be deputized as White Lanterns for 24 hours.

The White Light

The Life Entity, God of Life Energy (The Entity, The White Lantern, Life, The Trespasser)

  • Overdeity
  • Symbol: The White Lantern
  • Alignment: True Neutral
  • Reason for joining: To stop Nekron and the GUAD, and to ensure the survival of life
  • Dedication to Nature: High. The Life Entity is a progenitor of life, and will scheme and plan to protect it. That doesn't mean it's all that empathetic.
  • Loyalty to Gaea: Moderate. They hold most of the same ideals at heart, however the Life Entity feels it should be in control and sometimes squabbles over it. But they're more light-hearted barbs than anything, and the Life Entity is respectful of Gaea for sheltering it.
  • Threat level: Extreme with a host; the White Lantern holds all the power of the seven different lantern corps and can even revive people(though it doesn't like doing so). Medium without a host; even in a lantern it's a skilled chessmaster and manipulator.
  • Serves in the GUAN Natural Council

Swamp Thing, God of Horrifying Heroes (Alec Holland [in his former life up until Brightest Day])

  • Intermediate God
  • Symbol: A mix-mash of leaves
  • Alignment: Neutral Good
  • Reason for joining: To protect the Green and plant life.
  • Loyalty to Gaea: Medium-high. He is the official guardian of the Green, but disagrees with some of Gaea's more amoral qualities
  • Threat level: High. He can manifest from and control any sort of plant life, and has even managed to touch other kingdoms.
  • In-universe guardian of fauna, after the events of Brightest Day he became the Life Entity's successor. However following the reboot this doesn't apply anymore.

Guardians Of The White

Arthur Curry, God of Humanoid Merfolk (Aquaman, Orin, AQUAMAN, A.C.)

  • Intermediate God
  • Symbol: A stylized Golden A.
  • Alignment: Lawful Good, with Lawful Neutral shades
  • Reason for joining: To better serve his role as king of the seas.
  • Loyalty to Gaea: Moderate. He's more a supporter of the Grand United Alliance of Good, however he takes his position as protector of the oceans seriously and the GUAN might help him protect sea life more than the GUAG
  • Threat level: Medium-high. Don't let Superfriends or Robot Chicken fool you; Arthur can control any sea life, has super-speed, super-durability and super-strength, and rules 70% of the planet.
  • Was personally revived by the power of the White Lantern among 11 others, and served as the water elemental as part of the White Light's plan to make Alec Holland his replacement and stop the Black Lantern Swamp Thing.

Madame Vastra, Goddess of Reptilian Aliens (The Veiled Detective)

  • Lesser Goddess
  • Symbol: A green, scaly moon symbol
  • Alignment: Lawful Good
  • Reason for joining: Protect her fellow Silurians living in underground colonies and find places for them to live.
  • Loyalty to Gaea: Moderate. She's been assigned the duty of guarding prehistoric life, though when it comes to the Earth mother herself Vastra is neutral beyond the practicality of serving in the GUAN.
  • Threat level: Moderate.

Shino Aburame, God of Insect Controllers (Shino-Sensei)

Typhon, God of Sealed Villains (Typhoeus, Typhaeon, Typhos, The Father of All Monsters, Titan of Wind, The Storm Giant, Echidna's Husband, The Last Of The Titans)

  • Greater God
  • Symbol: Mt. Etna
  • Alignment: Neutral Evil
  • Reason for joining: To protect all monsters, who he sees himself as the patriarch of(in many cases, literally)
  • Loyalty to Gaea: Very high; she's his mother after all, and was sired in the first place to get back at the Olympians for overthrowing her children. That said, he doesn't share loyalty to any other member and is a firm Token Evil Teammate
  • Threat level: Extreme! Typhon was so powerful and terrifying even Zeus lost the first time.

Ash Ketchum, the Merchandise-Driven God (Satoshi, Pokémon Master, Twerp, "Ashley," "Satoko", "Tom Ato")

  • Lesser God (Intermediate God when using Aura)
  • Symbol: A PokéBall next to his trademark hat (it varies with each region that he goes to)
  • Alignment: Neutral Good, mostly
  • Reason for joining: Gaea promised that she would ensure all Pokemon are protected, and (easily) convinced him that he should help other magical creatures.
  • Loyalty to Gaea: Low. Ash joined the GUAN to be a Good Samaritan, not because he agrees with Gaea's practices beyond environmentalism. The GUAG considers his position a boon for maintaining positive relationships with the GUAN and try to keep them on a narrow path.
  • Threat level: Usually low. He's not a bad trainer like some people think, but does have his faults. However he can prove talented and has many powerful Pokemon on his team.
