People who are Not Good with Rejection in Fan Works.

Crossovers
  • The Fiery Blush Of Dawn: One of the reasons Yona acts Allergic to Love is that she's actually a reincarnated Naruto, who recalls how lonely he was for much of his past life and worries about being rejected. When Hak rejects her offer of a Test Kiss, she demands that he give her a second attempt, to no avail, which just further enhances her fears.
  • Grand Tour Series: Kendra Zendor does not take rejection well.
  • Home Is Where Your Curse Is: Swan Song, secondary antagonist for most of the story, first realizes that Ranma was using her to discover where her base of operations was located, then is subsequently downsized by her boss for her failure. Cue a massive Death or Glory Attack.
  • The Many Dates of Danny Fenton: Katie Kaboom really struggles with this.
    • In After Many Dates: Danny and Kitty, she's so torn up over his rejection that she develops an obsessive split personality that kidnaps Danny, attempting to force him to marry her. Naturally, this doesn't help her case much.
    • In After Many Dates: Danny and Katie, by contrast, Katie recognizes how much of a Clingy Jealous Girl she used to be and works hard to overcome that issue. This eventually results in her winning Danny's heart after he sees how much she's changed for the better.
  • Many stories in the Maribat AU depict both Adrien/Chat Noir and Lila in this fashion:
    • After far as Adrien is concerned, Ladybug is meant to be his since they were both chosen to be superheroes. He constantly harasses her for a Relationship Upgrade, not caring about how she feels about the prospect; learning her Secret Identity just makes matters worse. This frequently results in him stalking or kidnapping her.
    • Lila, meanwhile, tends to react this way whenever Adrien or Damien rejects her, due to her extreme narcissism and her belief that she should be the center of everyone's attention.
  • School Idol Days:
    • When Honoka turns down Kotori's request to go out together, Kotori responds by killing her.
    • While Riko intended her Love Confession to Chika to be purely platonic, You doesn't interpret it that way, and decides to kill herself in order to invoke Nothing Is the Same Anymore and destroy Aquors.
  • The Stanford Adventure Club: Agatha turns down Cody's invitation to go to prom together because she's already agreed to attend it with Gil. But Cody refuses to take no for an answer, constantly calling and threatening her before attempting to assault her outright in a school corridor.
  • Star Wars vs Warhammer 40K: The backstory of the fake General Grievous in this fic is that he was originally a Jedi wannabe who envied their Force powers. However, when the Jedi Order refused to let him join them because he wasn't Force-sensitive, Grievous convinced himself that it was somehow the Jedi's fault that he couldn't use the Force and decided that if he can't be a Jedi then no one can. He dedicates the rest of his life to slaying every Jedi he encounters, eventually catching the attention of Darth Sidious, who transforms him into a killer cyborg and makes him the Supreme Commander of the Separatist Droid Army.
  • Thousand Shinji: Rei's reaction to being rejected by Asuka was getting furious with her and Shinji, mistrusting them and not supporting them against Gendo. Later on, she admitted that her behavior left much to be desired.

Death Note

Hetalia: Axis Powers

  • Gankona, Unnachgiebig, Unità: Seeing as how Japan practically broke down due to the perceived rejection he felt because of how happy Italy was after being reunited with Holy Rome who was Germany all along, he would not take actual rejection well. Germany is implied to be the same. Italy is also bad with rejection since the reason he pretended to not notice their feelings is because he feared their possible rejection/abandonment of him more than anything.

Labyrinth

  • The Goblin Market takes the original story where Jareth commands Sarah to love him in return and she refuses and has a continuation where Jareth, embittered by her rejection, seeks to make her his queen by force and resorts to outright seduction and rituals made to connect them.

The Legend of Zelda

  • Aphelion: a case study features Ghirahim having even more violent mood swings than usual when Link fights against his advances. He therefore seeks to continue with his constant sexual harassment because he's annoyed with Link's lack of respect towards him. Link's lack of respect is justified due to Ghirahim barging himself into Link's life and sexually molesting and abusing him as well as Ghirahim being a terrorist who threatens to kill Link's loved ones unless he agrees to his involvement in his life.

Love Hina

Maleficent

  • Lampshaded in Your servant, Mistress. Diaval encounters a man who had approached him some time ago, and whom he had rejected. When the guy says some nasty things to Maleficent, Diaval comments that he's just angry because Diaval rejected him.

Mass Effect

  • Project Gethinator: Admiral Xen, who is Yandere in a big way for Commander Shepard, utterly loses it in the final chapter when he decisively turns her down and calls her on her mad scheme to control geth with the brains of kidnapped and murdered humans, going as far as to make the star of Eta Carinae go hyper-nova in a mad bid to destroy him, Tali and the crew of the Normandy.

Megamind

  • In Heroes, Metro Man (known as either Metro Dude or Wayne Scott in the story) feels he's entitled to Roxanne because she's hot and he's handsome and rich - to the extent that he dates her friend in order to make her jealous after she rejects him, and when that doesn't work, almost rapes her. He thankfully comes to his senses.
    • Metro Man shows the same attitude towards Roxanne in another fic by the same author, called Swapped Destinies. Unlike the above, this time it doesn't end well.

Miraculous Ladybug

  • I'm Not a Nice Person: Sick of dealing with Adrien's unwanted advances, Marinette charges him with sexual harassment in her civilian identity, then confronts him as Ladybug and strips him of the Black Cat Ring. When Hawkmoth attempts to akumatize him into Replace-or over the latter incident, Adrien declares that he'll force Marinette to love him, which actually causes Hawkmoth to back off and change his plans:
Adrien: Yes, Hawkmoth. Marinette will surely love me now!
    Hawkmoth: Hold up, what.
Adrien: Marinette replaced me with those two half-bit love interests, but she shall now love me forever!
Hawkmoth: Mkay, this was my fault, no. Marinette makes her own choices in love. Dear god, Adrien, no. Y-y'know what? Just get down to my study, it's in the room with Emilie's painting, we need to have a chat about boundaries.
  • Scarlet Lady:
    • Played With in "Copycat"; Scarlet Lady brutally rejects Théo's crush, and dismisses any suggestion that her unnecessary harshness played any part in his subsequent akumatization, declaring that he's simply not good at handling rejection.
    • Chloé herself takes this to I Reject Your Reality levels, refusing to acknowledge that Adrien, Luka and XY all regard her as an Abhorrent Admirer and want absolutely nothing to do with her. According to Rule #72 of the Bourgeois, "All guys have to be crazy about you," and she won't acknowledge any evidence to the contrary.

Monster Musume

  • My Lesbian Life with Monster Girls: Monster Yurisume: When her boyfriend Antonio breaks up with her, Iormu takes it so badly that not only does she crush a boulder in Yuisu's hot spring to rubble with her coils, but ends up sulking in her room for over a week.

My Little Pony: Friendship Is Magic

  • The Nuptialverse: In Through the Mirror, Sunset Shimmer honestly believed that Flash Sentry would stay with her even after she admitted to spreading Malicious Slander and bullying everyone, simply because she was popular. When he dumped her on the spot, she was so enraged that she socked him in the jaw. While recounting this incident later, Flash states that he can still feel where she struck him.
  • The Rock Farmer's Daughters: Cortland feels entitled to a relationship with Pinkamena, spreading rumors about how the two of them are supposedly already together. After being decisively rejected one too many times, he decides to set a House Fire, attempting to kill her, Cheese and Igneous in one fell swoop.

My Next Life as a Villainess: All Routes Lead to Doom!

  • Verge of Injustice presents the game version of Prince Jerod as this. Katarina's attempts to break off their engagement fail partially because Jerod refuses to let her be the one to end the relationship as it implies he did something wrong. If anything, her attempts to end the engagement just make Jerod hate Katarina even more.

Naruto

  • In kodak-85's Slash Fic Purple, Naruto tells Sasuke he's not gay and doesn't even like him. Sasuke's response is to punch him, tell him "You led me on", rape him and then carve his trademark whiskers on his face with a knife. As well as telling him he belongs to him.

Neon Genesis Evangelion

  • A Crown of Stars: When Jinnai found out that Asuka and Shinji were together he did not take it quite well. In fact he called her a slut -among other "nice" epithets-, threatened with telling Shinji secrets she would not want him knowing and declared he would sell her into sex slavery after she outlived her usefulness. His tantrum was even more out of place when you consider she had been nothing but his "voluntary" plaything and she had been very clear about never liking him and servicing him only because the alternative was a bullet in her head.
  • Evangelion 303: Saburo broke up with Kaworu when he latter started paying more attention to Rei Ayanami. Later he regretted it, but for then Kaworu had moved on. Feeling unable to get over his feelings Saburo started increasingly dumber and crazier schemes to win Kaworu back, and lashing out against his perceived rival, Rei.
  • HERZ: Kurumi was rejected by Shinji, but she was unable to accept it and get over it. When she met him again, seven years later, he was married and had a daughter and she kept trying to seduce him with absolutely zero success.

Odd Squad

  • Ships Ahoy!:
    • Near the end of Part One, O'Donahue delivers a double whammy to Oprah in the form of both quitting Odd Squad for not being able to solve a case and being unable to get help with it, and breaking up with her for her being too busy with her new Director duties to help him with said case. As he walks away from her, she collapses and loses any semblance of awareness, and can only remember bits and pieces from the events of the rest of the day. By the time she wakes up tomorrow, she has gone from a benevolent agent into a bitter and depressed Tiny Tyrannical Girl who has to put on a facade for her agents so they don't see her suffering.
    • In Part Two, Todd confesses his love to Olive, but does so in a rather aggressive manner, putting down Oscar and citing how he would be a better boyfriend than Oscar, who had been ignoring Olive up to that point, could ever be. Olive rejects his advances, stating how Todd is a Jerkass who consistently bullies her and never lets her prove her worth when she tags along with him on cases, and becomes desperate and frightened as she gives him a "The Reason You Suck" Speech before taking the pie he is offering her along with his confession and throwing it right back into his face with enough force to make him fall over. He definitely does not take this lightly, since Olive was the only thing making him stay on Odd Squad, and in response, he threatens her by telling her that she and the rest of Precinct 13579 will pay dearly for how she hurt him, causing her to ask herself what she's done. This is what leads into the infamous pienado attack.

The Queen's Gambit

Riordanverse

  • they'll name a city after us: Apollo has never taken rejection well; he hounded Daphne so much that she begged to be transformed into a tree just so she could escape him, and arranged for Artemis to murder Coronis after she cheated on him. When Percy rejects his advances, declaring that she considers him to be nothing more than a monster, he traps her in a nightmare containing her worst fears.

A Song of Ice and Fire

  • A Dragon's Roar: When Rhaegar's betrothal to Laela of Volantis is made officical, Cersei is left inconsolable for days.
  • Our Blades Are Sharp: Initially, Joffrey wasn't happy about the possibility of him marrying Sansa Stark since he considered her "the daughter of a savage". Then he met her and when he realized she didn't give the slightest fuck about him because she already was betrothed to Domeric Bolton, he promptly went Yandere.

Star vs. the Forces of Evil

  • Stay: Kelly confesses to Marco, but he rejects her because he feels No Sparks with her. Kelly is bitter that she has been there for Marco for years, helping him with his unrequited love, yet he still does not want to be with her. She cuts him off and leaves him to deal with his heartbreak over Star alone. She later has a Jerkass Realization over how she deserted him when he needed a friend most of all.

Supergirl

  • Kara of Rokyn has Jara. When Kara turned her down, Jara beat Kara up and then spent months looking for ways to humiliate her.

Superman

  • In Superman of 2499: The Great Confrontation, Katherine turns Adam down in favor of his brother. Alan takes this not well at all. He's even glad to hear that Kath was beaten up!
What was to be done with the Six? They'd have to learn that when you dealt with Adam Kent, even if he wore a mask, you'd damned well better give him what he asked for.
    And if you didn't...

Teen Titans

  • The End of Ends has Count Logan, who is Beast Boy in disguise, and essentially attempts omnicide, causing untold carnage and even blowing up planets, because Terra broke up with him.

The Twilight Saga

  • Tough Love: Aware that Edward is eavesdropping on his argument with Bella, Charlie makes a point of wondering out loud why his daughter wants to be around the Cullens when she doesn't seem to like or enjoy their company at all, declaring "I wish I knew what they had that you want so damned much." This triggers Edward's realization that she's after vampiric immortality, and he promptly breaks things off with her, leaving Bella a sobbing wreck in her bedroom and blaming her father for everything. Charlie also references Bella's infamous canon instance of this trope, describing it as, "the emotional Siege of Leningrad."
