The Ethereal Collective has finally launched a full-scale invasion of Earth. Of course things are bound to get way scarier from here on out...
The Advent Directive/The XCOM Files
- The prologue starts off like this; the Demeter Contingency takes everything about Hades, and cranks it up to eleven.
- The Commander's systematic execution of the Council of Nations. One gene-modded psion with a gauss pistol VS 13 Councilors (Tamara being the only one to walk out alive), the Speaker, and two guards. It does not deserve to be called a fair fight. And the rest of the Council's personnel don't fare any better: the Commander's old team makes short work of the security, and rounds up the remaining personnel only to execute them.
- The worst part, however, has to be what happens to the UN Headquarters in New York: Abby's team kills everyone inside with nerve toxins before demolishing the whole thing. There were children on a school trip among the dead.
- The fear factor goes up a notch with the File on the destruction of the UN, which ends with a text discussion between one of the children and her mother. It ends with the mother repeatedly asking her to respond, unaware of what happened.
