Right from the start, the sight of New York being flooded, with entire buildings being below water, is simply too much.
In Issue 2, the Blob eating the Wasp's corpse. Unlike usual examples of Nightmare Fuel, however, this isn't considered a good thing in any way, even for fans who like being creeped out; as a matter of fact, most of them were just disgusted by it.
Hell, Blob in general appears more twisted than ever. Sure, he's never been a handsome guy, but this comic made sure have him look like an even uglier brother of Pudge.
The above is followed in the next issue by Hank Pym biting the Blob's head off and spitting it out, complete with a shot of the Blob's head rolling on the ground.
Most of the deaths in this series count, but the top one above is the most hideous example.
There is an absolutely horrific panel where Dr. Strange is strangled by his cape until his head actually explodes. His face swells up to disturbing proportions, his eyes practically bulge out of his head, and it has a sickly red/purple color. The suffering implied is immense.
