  • The planetarium owner, Ogden, in the first game. Wears a sinister trenchcoat, creepily obsessively devoted to his daughter/friend Lynsey, has the mouth of a leech, tries to turn both Mackenzie and Penelope into mind-controlled people-dolls. On that note his daughter/friend Lynsey is also a very creepy child, since she's the one who wants him to make people-dolls in the first place.
  • The entire second episode that Ogden and Lynsey appear in is very very disturbing. The innocent Penelope actually being kidnapped and turned into a doll by some weird machine, only able to say one phrase over and over and treated like one of Lynsey's puppets, Lugol and his eerie organ grinder music, and the climax, where the planetarium owner goes insane and tries to kill Mackenzie.
  • The third episode of the second game has an unknown figure punching holes in the eyes of the artifacts and works of art. Near the end of the case, Mackenzie hides in one of the picture frames and watches as the culprit comes in and starts punching out eyes, coming closer and closer to her hiding place. The implication is that if it hadn't been stopped, it would have punched out her eye too.
  • The second game's fourth episode starts out under the impression that an actual murder has taken place with Penelope seeing a dead body. It turns out to be a doll, but it's still unnerving to think of a killing in this series.
  • The general feel of the game can be deeply unnerving. The world is lovely, in an eerie way, but very...empty. Areas that should be full of people (like the planetarium) are practically abandoned, save from characters relevant to the plot. The game is sparing with its sound when it comes to speech, but the Background Music is clearly designed to unsettle...and if the Background Music wasn't there, it's all too easy to imagine that the ambient noise in this world is unnaturally quiet, if not silent. The art style continues this trend: they have a rather chibi, cartoon that still looks a little creepy, especially with how some of the characters, notably the main character, have big, bugout eyes.
    • Not to mention how a good portion of the NPCs have the appearance of zombies, complete with gaping mouths.
