Tony Hawk's Pro Skater, in spite of it's fairly lighthearted tone, does have it's fair share of nightmarish moments.

The "Carnival" level is full of this:
- In one area of the level is a swamp. If you go into the area, an alligator will appear and chase your character and will give you and "out of bounds" if you get too close.
- There's also the haunted house, with a creepy clown and flashing lights.
