Tokyo Babylon is quite possibly Clamp's darkest series, and with that, the Nightmare Fuel can't be too far behind.
- For starters there is Seishirou. His impact on the story is absolutely terrifying.
- His display of unremorseful abuse towards a shocked Subaru, both physically, mentally and emotionally.
- The gang-rape incident. It's already scary enough that people are roaming around in gangs and kidnapping girls, but the thought of the aftermath specifically rumours and gossip by people on the street (especially if the victim comes across it, like it happened to Mitsuki - even if her neighbors have no idea that she was the target) is already heartbreaking enough. It's no wonder Mitsuki intentionally put herself in a coma for months.
- It's already difficult enough for victims of rape to report it, but the fear of being labeled "damaged goods" if they do, over something they had absolutely no control of.
- The amount of bullying Hashimoto has to go through. She even describes it (correctly) as gang violence. And the teachers are aware but hand wave it as "kid's fighting". The worse thing is how close to real life it can be.
- In the second OAV, there's the flashback where a woman returns home from grocery shopping... and finds out that her eldest son, a Creepy Child no older than 8, has accidentally strangled his little sister to death, and doesn't seem to have even realized what he did.
