After more than ten years since the show ended, David Chase once again brings us all the horrors of organized crime that we were accustomed to in The Sopranos:
- Dickie has Paulie shove the end of a power tool into a man's mouth and then turns it on, pulverizing his teeth and leaving his mouth a bloody mess. Ouch. There's no Gory Discretion Shot either.
- In a darkly humorous bit of Foreshadowing, we see the moment that Tony first meets a newborn Christopher, which ends with Christopher crying and a relative commenting that infants often perceive things from "the other side". She might be on to something considering how, as adults, Tony increasingly makes Christopher's life miserable until he finally murders him.
- Near the end of the film, Dickie and Giuseppina have a romantic walk down the beach together. The happy mood is cut short when Giuseppina reveals that she slept with Harold, which prompts an enraged Dickie to drown her in the tide.
- Junior ends up having Dickie whacked just for laughing at him.
- The final line of the film is Chris confirming that he was damned to hell when he died and has been there the whole time.
