TA-DAAAA!

The Banana Splits movie would sound harmless from the start, right? Wrong...

  • Keep in mind that all the god-awful disturbing things that happened in the movie listed below were done by iconic characters from a 1968 Hanna-Barbera series. It would be like if Yogi Bear and Boo Boo suddenly mauled people for their pic-a-nic baskets!
  • Several of the deaths are genuinely gruesome, the one standing out in particular being Thadd's grisly end. After smashing Thadd's phone, Fleegle pushes him into a box to slice him in half. Poppy begs to him to release her fiancé, only for Fleegle to hold her in place, making her watch the magic trick. Fleegle then uses a real saw to brutally chop him. He then reveals the aftermath of the trick to Poppy.
  • Jonathan and Rebecca are forced to race the Sloppy Time obstacle course. Jonathan is stabbed in the back with a prop key, so deeply that his spine can be seen. Rebecca makes it to the end, but still gets her face bashed in with a cartoony hammer, popping an eye out of its socket.
    • While hiding in the ball pit, Paige comes across her corpse.
  • The way Bingo says "Time's almost up!" while pursuing Austin.
  • The "Banana Split". After kidnapping the studio executive Andy, he is placed on the spinning wheel, where instead of landing on "Rock Out," he instead lands on "Banana Split." As the name would suggest, the Banana Splits grab hold of Andy and they pull on his arms and legs until they broke off.
  • Stevie is killed by Drooper when the lion forces a lollipop prop down his throat, crushing his windpipe. They later immolate his corpse after showing him off to the children.
  • While they wouldn't harm a child, the Banana Splits nevertheless are blissfully unaware that the children they are keeping hostage would die from starvation. It's also implied that they brutally murdered some of the children's parents.
  • The Final Battle between Bingo and Snorky ends with Bingo ripping out Snorky's robotic heart only to be killed himself by Snorky crushing his head.

Original Series

  • One episode of Danger Island has the Skeleton preparing to push Leslie into a pool of something highly corrosive. How do we know it's highly corrosive? They just pulled a clean skeleton from it.
