The crude artstyle does nothing to fix this...
- The 1984-style way CWCville is run and the punishments meted out makes one reflexively flinch in sympathy for the denizens. Examples of this include:
- Before it was retconned out, Chris had said that Magi-Chan used his Psychic Powers to spy on the citizens and enforce the ban on homosexuality. Imagine being in the privacy of your own home, your own bedroom, and some maniac a large distance away knows your every move, your every thought, and that one slip will result in prosecution. Grade-A Paranoia Fuel right there.
- The deaths of Sean, Alec, Mao, and Evan are horrifying; after a blatant Kangaroo Court which runs heavily on Artistic License – Law, the four are sentenced to death. Alec is burnt to a crisp by a ten-button (each one pressed by someone who they claim he has hurt to activate it) electric chair and Sean is shot dead by a firing squad, but they get off easy compared to Evan and Mao. Evan — whose fate is used as this page's image — is genitally mutilated and has his forearms and lower legs severed by drills by a character who is chronologically less than a week old and still psychologically a young child (the results of which are pictured to the right), and finally Mao has his limbs telekinetically bent backward and snapped, before his heart is exploded.
- There's a subplot where Chris comes back from the future to inform Magi-Chan that almost everyone on the planet is gay, and as a result a vaccine is being developed to cure homosexuality. She then tells Magi-Chan to go forward to 2015 and then mass produce the vaccine so it can be dumped into the present-time planet's water supply. That's right, Chris Chan is full-on commanding a gay/asexual genocide. And it's not the gory type, it's a completely silent one that nobody will notice.
