When you thought he couldn't sink any lower!
Just like the Season 5 episodes the game replicates, the game story has many dark moments not shown in the main series.
- Downplayed with the brutal and unexpected demises of Josephine and Ezekiel. Getting mauled to death by robot alligators is not a pleasant way to go, but at least there's no blood or gore (partly due to their level, or at least their part of the level, being within an episode from before the Adult Swim/Toonami era).
- One look at the ESRB content descriptors reveals that there is going to be blood in this game. But after battling many enemies in normal gameplay, you'll start to wonder what they meant by that as Jack does not shed a single drop of blood...until you reach the seventh stage, Snowy Forest. Turns out that the blood descriptor comes into play in a few pivotal cutscenes where you have no control of Jack at all: Blood appears when Jack finds himself fighting the Daughters of Aku (including Pre-Heel–Face Turn Ashi) once more. First, when Jack slits one of the Daughters of Aku's throats with her mask removed (again). Then again when Aku pushes !Past Ashi through Jack's sword, leaving her to die with a visible blood wound through her body that also persists into the next level.
- The Witch Hag from "Jack and the Zombies" is back and she's bigger and creepier than ever.
- Jack is forced to once again relive murdering Ashi's sisters with full knowledge of their previous fight despite Ashi's plea to save them as he did her. During their fight, each sister is shown being killed in a death scene one by one without a mask on to show their nature as victims, with Jack helpless to stop any of it.
- As a nasty display of malice, Aku pushes Ashi (or at least the past version of her within this pocket of time) onto Jack's blade and stabs right through her in order to mentally break him when Jack tries to reach out to her. To add further salt to the wound, he later puppets her corpse around as seen in the page image and turns her into her monster form just to taunt him. This actually drives Jack to another Despair Event Horizon.
