As the sequel to the original nightmare fuel SPBRR: Fusion, this story has plenty of equally horror-filled moments. Here are some of the biggest exmaples.
- Right off the bat, Raven Beak manages to STEAL ROSALINA'S COSMIC POWERS.
- The first encounter with E.M.M.I.-01P, not only does the heroes attack does nothing to its, it manages to catch Samus off guard where she tries to aim with Omega Cannon. It took help from Rosie to defeat. This show the EMMI in this story are much more dealier compare to the canon.
- The White EMMI/E.M.M.I.-02SM first encounter with heroes. First it grabs Rosie and tires to drag her in, dislocating her arm in the process. Turns out it was trying to take Rosie as a hostage. This raises the stakes and a reason for the heroes to be wary and avoid it as much as possible. plus, showing the EMMI will do anything to get Samus, no matter what.
- Corpius's ambush on Blake by stabbing her in the back with poison was unexpected and shocking. The fact this boss was able to catch Blake and the heroes off guard by moving similar to the famous Predator from said series speaks volumes on how after stalking and following the heroes, it struck without warning.
- Newt getting kidnapped by the Green EMMI/E.M.M.I.-03MB who quickly grabbed him in split second before closing the vent. This results in a rescue scene to save the injured Metroid before escaping from it. Suffice to say, poor Newt got scarred by the experience.
- The Yellow Emmi/E.M.M.I.-04SB's first appearance where it manages to grab Rosie like the White Emmi did by her leg. Not even the pressure plate could stop it. Then at the end of its debut in the chapter, Raven Beak allows it to leave its EMMI Zone as part of an experiment. This adds even more terror for the EMMI in the story, plus given how parts Darion is still in darkness, it can ambush and attack the heroes without warning.
- It proceeds to do so next chapter, chasing SPBRR through Darion and Burenia, evening managing to catch the heroes on train.
- Raven Beak murdering Old Bird in cold blood with a shot behind his back, showing that Raven Beak has no problem with murdering his own kind to get what he wants.
- Ice Rider Calyrex receiving a horrifying vision of SBPRR unwittingly unleashing the X-Parasite and Blake at the end of vision getting infected by X-Parasite. This realizes Weiss's fears much to her and the team's horror. This resulted in the group immediately travel as fast as they can to ZDR to ensure SPBRR and their allies, especially Blake does not get infected as foretold in the vision.
- Blake getting captured by Dogyga, complete with it wrapping its tentacles around Blake in a very creepy fashion similar to adult manga. This was enough to cause Blake to snap and go feral (with feral eyes as a bonus), and brutally murder it. Then Blake is slumping over and acting like a predator reacting to danger, enough to unnerve the Atlas Sisters. This one of the few times that shows how dangerous and feared Blake can be when pushed hard enough.
- SPBRR's encounter in Elun with the return to X-Parasites, much to everyone's horror, complete with an ambush later on. If not for WARCY's timely rescue, they would have been overwhelmed.
- Gets even worse because the SA-X is seen leaving Elun, meaning it is now free to chase and torment the heroes wherever it pleases, especially Blake.
- A Chozo Warrior in Ghavoran using the environment its advantage. It not only could sue plant powers, it can add poison to its spear. This add dread that each fight with these X infected Chozo will not be easy. If not for Anti-Aqua, the heroes would have been defeated by it.
- The E.M.M.I.-05IM battle where is uses the ice to its advantage such as ice punch and blizzard, making this a deadly fight plus freezing the floor.
- While the SA-X is firmly curbstomped, when it breaks free, it decides to absorb one of the Chozo warriors to get strong enough to wipe the floor with everyone!
- Raven Beak letting the E.M.M.I.-06WB loose outside of its E.M.M.I.'s zone.
- Next chapter showcases why this E.M.M.I. was the most feared in Dread, not only can use its electric moves other than Wave Beam, it actually planned ahead and studies the strengths and weakness of SPBRR, Atlas Sisters, Pichu, and recent WARCY. This allows it to not only counter them easily, resulting in a Curb-Stomp Battle that forces to be creative and constantly be on the move. It even shows up during Escue and two Chozo Robot Soldiers fights, forcing the heroes during these boss fight. It also use technology to its advantage. There is a reason this E.M.M.I. was able to defeat SA-X in a Gaiden and why Raven Beak let it loose, this Adaptational Badass boss is easily the biggest threat the heroes had to deal with, more than even the SA-X itself.
- Ruby losing control of her Phazonic Magic powers without warning was terrifying. Turns out even in death, Dark Samus finds a way to ensure Ruby can no longer use her Phazon powers as freely as she wants. This horrifies Ruby greatly, with the risk of possibly hurting loved ones by accident should she use Phazon again in future, Ruby decides she needs to find a way to seal her Phazonic powers. Ultimately, Samus's concern for Ruby back in Galaxy 2 came true in some form, meaning Ruby needs to be extra careful now with the Phazon.
- ZDR not only as risk of temperature going unbalanced, but risk of collapsing on itself due the core cooling, putting the planet's magnetic field out of function which would lead to the planet also nearly being hit with some incoming solar radiation. This raises the stake for our heroes and need to fix this before its too late. Plus with E.M.M.I.-06WB and SA-X still around, it won't be easy for them.
- Next chapter shows them using as hard as they and dealing with Experiment No. Z-57 Reborn as a X-Parasite Clone. This boss proved to be a challenge, even kidnapping Ruby, Penny, Samus, and Chell just to ensure the countdown speeds up. They were just able to stop the planet from blowing with less than 5 seconds to spare.
- Samus's Metroid DNA beginning to slowly overtake her personality as seen when she brutally torturing an Chozo Solider, scaring her allies to the point Pikachu and Pichu had to shock her to snap her out of it.
- The final battle with Raven Beak was tense and terrifying. He proves to be SPBRR and WARCY's most dangerous enemy yet. For the first two phases he proved to be tough, being only mildly impressed. Then to the heroes' horror, not only does Raven Beak unleash the stolen Cosmic Powers from Rosie at full strength, he even revels he has unlocked the forbidden Supernova State much earlier. He proceeds to brutally destroy and injured Rosalina without mercy, destroying her armor and weapons with ease. Despite, Samus attempt to save her, Raven stops and proceeds to choke her. He then reveals the full truth with no regret. This trigger Samus's Metroid suit and leads to her brutally beating the shit out of Raven Beak before snapping his neck God of War style.
- Then the X-Parasite takes over and turns him into Raven Beak X, unlike in the canon, it survives Samus's Hyper Beam before sending her crashing into a wall. It took a power boost from Rosalina to put an end to the nightmare once and for all.
- Final chapter reveals the full corruption of Galactic Federation: the missions to BSL Station and ZDR were attempts by the group to have Samus eliminated, Raven Beak had a connection with the Federation, and the fact Bradley was willing to commit genocide while invading planets just to gain more resources. This served as the final straw for Samus, declaring her intention to take care of the mess with the Galactic Federation once and for all.
- Samus letting Kirby eat a captured Federation solider. Even for her, that's cold.
- The two post credit scenes are both terrifying.
- The first reveals yet another revived class 78 student-Mukuro. And not only is she hunting Junko (and it's implied she's out for revenge) but she also walks right into the Federation's hands when she attacks one of their soldiers.
- The second has Seryu get dangerously close to killing Jacques, which she knows will push her past the point of no return. When her gun doesn't work due to the bullet proof walls, she decides to raid a bomb factory for something that will get the job done.
