  • The first time the Abominable Snowmonster of the North appears. Rudolph is playing with his father when suddenly, the music turns frightening as its hellish roar goes off. Rudolph and his father immediately go for cover as the beast goes stomping by, searching for deer to prey on. The fact that this horrible monster is running amok in the North and even Santa is apparently helpless to stop him is pure nightmare fuel. It’s especially jarring considering the North Pole is a pretty peaceful, idyllic place otherwise minus the storms.
  • The Abominable Snowmonster Of The North (aka The Bumble). He's mean, he's nasty, and he hates everything to do with Christmas! And dear God, that roar! Some of them are stock roars taken from bears but he does have a proper voice if you listen close enough...and it's nothing pleasant.
    • Not to mention when Hermey plucks out all of his teeth while he and Cornelius save the reindeer. Though that also falls under an awesome moment for the elf.
    • It's not just the roar, it's the combination of a wild-eyed look plus speedy zoom-in shots of his face. The Bumble was terrifying!
    • His Evil Laugh after clubbing poor Rudolph would make Dr. Claw proud. Sam couldn't bear to watch that part!
      • The clubbing itself, while thankfully not clearly shown, was also veering into the territory of Family-Unfriendly Violence since it was done via stalactite! Rudolph's red nose pissed Bumble off that much.
      • He also drags out his prey's feelings of terror before feasting on them as noted by Clarice. Sadistic yetis, anyone?
    • Thankfully, he changes for the better later on.
  • Rudolph and Hermey caught out in that storm...
  • Rudolph decides to head out on his own to not endanger his friends, and right before a commercial break, we see him sailing back to the mainland of the North Pole... and we then hear that nightmarish roar of the Bumble in the dead of night, a clear omen of what terrible danger Rudolph is willingly heading back towards. Unfortunately that bit of Bumble's roaring is cut out in the FreeForm airing since 2019.
  • Sam notes that just as Rudolph was about to start looking for his family… “it hit!” And suddenly, the great storm Sam mentioned at the beginning of the special arrives. Elves and toys are thrown around helplessly, and snow piles up over buildings like nothing. It’s an effective moment with little more than just the wind howling.
