Dear God, Ruby Quest. Between Filbert wanting to cut the bad out of everyone, Ace's face (or lack thereof!), and a Lovecraftian, Yandere version of Tom Nook, there's no way you'll look at Animal Crossing the same way again.
- The multitude of Body Horror Zombies freely roaming about the facility, for one.
- The series is scary from the first time Stitches appears. While exploring, Ruby finds a door, and it looks like there's someone on the other side. Then she opens the door, and finds a mutilated corpse. And then it starts to move...
- After Red tears down the tarp in the dummy room, he and Ruby find a mutilated body beneath it. Red starts to laugh, opening his mouth much wider than he should be able to, and revealing that he has◊ More Teeth than the Osmond Family in the process.
- Every interaction with Subject #6 is creepy as hell. He's first mentioned in a staff memo, which explains that he was moved to Upper Lab B for "increasingly unpredictable and violent behavior" and referring to him as a "highest priority hazard". (Although we find out at the very end that #6 is actually Tom). Later on, we get a look at him when Ruby peeks into Upper Lab B with her Third Eye, revealing a ghoulish red face that "seems very distinctly unfriendly"◊. Later still, Ruby and Tom enter the lab, and we see that he's a horribly mutilated bear-person, with amputated legs, gouged out eyes, and long, thin arms that end with bony points instead of hands. He's also completely insane, and Ruby and Tom have to tread cautiously while talking him into giving them the key he has. As they talk, pairs of yellow eyes start opening in the room, until Tom flips a light switch and reveals that the entire room is covered in fleshy growths, and the eyeballs are growing out of them.◊ Not only that, the growths appear to be connected to #6's body. The two escape and lock him in the room, but when Ruby crawls into a maintenance shaft after Bella's death, she flicks the lights on and #6 is right next to her.◊ Even worse, the picture is animated."SO WHERE ARE THOSE SCISSORS?"
- #6 shows up one last time during the final escape from the Metal Glen. He's too terrified of Ace to attack Ruby, but by this point he's so horribly mutated he looks like a pile of flesh and eyeballs, topped by what's left of his original head◊.
- The fleshy growths you start seeing here and there are merely gross and creepy, at first. Then you encounter the really massive growth(s?) spanning Subject 6's room. And then you find out what they actually are (the "body" of an Eldritch Abomination) and what they're used for (a cure for blindness that also causes horrific mutations and violent insanity).
- Let's go back to our good ol' buddy Ace again, shall we? First, he's a basic Expy of Pyramid Head; second, he's basically invincible; third, he has a face made of worms, or at least what we hope to God to be worms, and fourth, we learn almost nothing about him over the course of the story, just that he "used to be the security guard, and kinda still is".
- Cold Storage. An entire room where it's difficult to find a single item or surface that isn't mindbending and/or terrifying in some way. The entire place is a glaring red, making a stark contrast with the rest of the largely black-and-white comic, the Dummy is there (and now it has tentacle arms), and it serves as both Ace and Cjopaze's lairs.
- Even Ruby herself gets creepy once the Third Eye is introduced.
- After Ruby passes out for the first time, she wakes up in her bedroom with Tom in it, his back to her. She turns him around to look at his face, and it has a massive scar down the middle and a too-small mouth◊. She then snaps back to reality, revealing the room is drenched in blood◊, and "Tom" is actually a creepy-looking dummy.
- While exploring Staff Wing 4, Ruby casually opens the door to the other staff wings, revealing a "huge door lined with teeth leading into some sort of horrible abyss"◊. She wisely decides not to go that way.
