Bear in mind, this was before he became the Tribal Chief.

  • Locking Braun Strowman in the ambulance and then deliberately crashing it at Great Balls of Fire 2017. Yikes!
  • Also (ignoring for the moment the HALF DOZEN F-5s Roman took during this beatdown), everything that Brock Lesnar did to Reigns's head during WrestleMania 34.
  • His feud with Jey Uso leading up to Clash of Champions 2020 where, during the lead up, everyone felt that something wasn't right the moment Jey was crowned number one contender. The following week after Jey joked with Roman with his Universal Championship, Roman shot the coldest Death Glare ever seen when Jey's back was turned. When Jey called Roman out on this at the go home show, Roman made it clear that he was going to beat Jey badly if he didn't lay down and take the loss.
  • In the match itself, Roman made damn good on his promise to beat up Jey, demanding that Jey stay down and acknowledge him as the Tribal Chief, and only becoming more violent and vicious every time Jey denied him. It got so bad an injured Jimmy had to limp out, throw in the towel despite Jey imploring him not to, throw himself into the line of fire and acknowledge Roman as the Chief himself to stop the beating on his brother from getting dire. Freaking Karrion Kross would've had to eat his heart out, except all the reviewers just plain forgot he'd also provoked a potential white-towel scenario less than two months earlier. Roman Reigns was on such a different level of vile tyrant that even the Fleeting Demographic Rule dared not speak up to him.
  • Then came Hell of a Cell 2020 in which Roman announces the stipulations: if Jey loses, he either becomes Roman's indentured servant or he, his brother and and their families get excommunicated from the Anoai family if he refused. Not only did Roman beat Jey within an inch of his life again but beat up the referee that tried to stop the match and then after, seeming remorseful after Jimmy came down to snap Roman out of it, he used the ruse to choke out the still-injured Jimmy which had Jey saying "I quit" to for Roman to stop.
  • Since then, Roman has been ruling Smack Down with an iron fist demanding fear from the entire roster, whether it's corrupting Jey into beating the hell out of Daniel Bryan (and beating the hell out of Jey himself when he fails) or attacking Kevin Owens and calmly introducing himself to the Owens family to say that he will take the food from their table if KO doesn't start fearing him.
  • Following his and Sami Zayn's loss to Kevin Owens and John Cena at the end of 2022. Reigns starts the new year off with what seems like his typical promo style addressing the loss, claiming it wasn't he that lost but Sami. Then from out of nowhere, Roman starts questioning Sami's place in the Bloodline. Asking Zayn if he wants to be Tribal Chief. This causes the normally calm and collected Tribal Chief to suddenly start shouting in front of Sami, angrily berating and demanding if Sami thinks he's better than him. Had it not been for Kevin Owens's timely arrival things might gotten even MORE heated between the two.
  • The main event of the 2023 Royal Rumble event and its aftermath have officially solidified both him and the Bloodline Saga as possibly the darkest villainous stable in WWE history. Before the new year, The Bloodline, while heels, were being cheered, celebrated even, thanks in much part to the light Sami brought to the group, Roman was in better moods on TV, even smiling, making jokes, and occasionally playing to the crowd for babyface-like reactions. That all changed in the last 5 minutes of the match against Kevin Owens, where he started off by violently slamming Kevin's head against the steps of the steel steps, to Sami and the audience's collective shock. After the match, the Bloodline take turns beating a defenseless, lifeless Kevin Owens, eventually handcuffing him to the ring ropes. After many superkicks to Kevin, Reigns goes to hit him in the head with a chair. Sami tries to protest by telling Roman Kevin has had enough, but the Tribal Chief first tries and make Sami do it, then gets more frustrated and animalistic by the second, and finally begins screaming manipulative, abusive vitriol to Sami's face like he did with The Usos in an attempt to gaslight him into attacking Kevin. Eventually, Sami has had enough of Roman's horrible treatment and strikes him, in the back, causing him to slowly fall to the ropes, EXACTLY the same way Seth Rollins did almost a decade ago, shocking Reigns and earning the Bloodline's wrath. Jimmy Uso and Solo Sikoa proceed to beat the piss out of Zayn, while the conflicted Jey Uso walks out on the whole scene. As they continue to beat Zayn down, Roman becomes angrier and angrier due to both the chair to the back and Jey leaving, to where you can hear The Head of the Table screaming at the top of his lungs at Jimmy and Solo to kill Sami. The horrowing scene ends with him savagely ripping off the Honorary Uce shirt he'd given Sami as well as the lei he'd intended to give him, with the entire crowd going from thinking he's actually pretty cool for a top bad guy to chanting "FUCK YOU ROMAN!" at the top of their lungs. If it was at all possible to turn heel when you're already the Big Bad...
Roman: (to Solo Sikoa) We're at war now Solo. We take no prisoners now.
  • Think he was bluffing to Solo? On the following Smackdown, Roman tells the fans about the "greed" he saw in Sami's eyes at Survivor Series and Sami interrupts with a revenge-fueled assault, declaring himself the next challenger to Reigns at Elimination Chamber in Sami's hometown of Montreal...only to be cut off by Jimmy and Solo as they beat him down not unlike KO at Royal Rumble. However, as Solo lines Sami up for a chair-assisted hip attack that would likely put Sami on the shelf, Roman stops him. A rare glimmer of mercy from the Tribal Chief? Not even close.
Roman: "You want something, huh? You want something from me? (crowd chants "We want Jey!") You hear that? They want Jey, but I don't have Jey...because you broke up my Bloodline! My right-hand man isn't here because of you, Sami. You understand? I gave you the key to the kingdom, I gave you an invitation to the promised land, and what do you do? How do you repay me? You break up my family! So I'm gonna give you what you want...but you're gonna give me what I want, do you understand me? I want you in Montreal, I want you at the Elimination Chamber because you broke up my family, and I'm gonna break you in front of your entire family, your parents, your wife, your child, all your family friends, your relatives, everybody...I WANT THEM TO SEE WHAT HAPPENS WHEN YOU PLAY WITH THE BLOODLINE AND YOU MESS WITH MY FAMILY! I'LL SEE YOU SOON!"
