For a Pokémon parody, this series can get pretty dark at times.

The worst part is that after Brock mentions what the smell is, completely deadpan at that, all you can hear is Misty's panicked breathing and sobbing.
- The Nurse Joy who killed all the Pokemon under her charge out of incompetence and then sold the corpses.
- The Stinger at the end of Episode 20 is this as well as a Moment of Awesome. A pair of violet, cat-like eyes suddenly open and Mewtwo's Leitmotif from Pokémon: The First Movie begins to play...
- Jigglypuff's song. 'Nuff said.
- Episode 24: Ash purposefully loses all of Misty's Pokemon to somebody who will eat them simply because Misty tried to catch a Pokemon he wanted. Even BROCK is freaked out by this.Misty: (Fearfully) Holy shit, you're psychotic...
- It really says something when said guy who wanted to eat Misty's Pokemon is more sympathetic than Ash.
