Nightmare Fuel / 102 Dalmatians

Go To

  • Say what you will about 102, but Cruella transforming back to her old self is full of Nightmare Fuel. It shows that Glenn Close still got it.
  • The moment when she turns, the whole of London suddenly changes into a Hell-world filled with nothing more than white and black spots! The building, the humans, EVERYTHING!!
  • Even the teaser trailer to the sequel has nightmare fuel! It starts out all quaint and innocent with a puppy and the catchy song "Atomic Dog", but it's interrupted by lightning and abruptly shifts to a close-up of Cruella, who cackles ominously and says, "Surprise!" The "surprise!" bit actually appears in the movie, but this time it's a true Jump Scare. Unlike in the trailer where there was at least some buildup, in the movie it literally comes right out of nowhere. And yes the closeup on Cruella's face is kept. Unlike the trailer which had a bluish-white light on Cruella, in the film she's bathed in a red light, resulting in a near Nightmare Face.
  • How about the bakery where the climax takes place? It includes guillotine-like knives that could've cut someone (like Oddball) clean in half. Then there's this large, formidable oven that looks like a face.
  • The scene where the spotless puppy, Oddball, is helplessly hanging onto the windowsill of a very tall building. Sure she gets rescued and ends up fine, but seeing the poor puppy whimpering and so close to falling who knows how many stories is bound to seriously disturb any animal lovers or children.
