He just wants to play...
Mr. Hopp's Playhouse is a series that stars a demonic, creepy stuffed rabbit. Honestly, nightmares are about part and parcel.

    Mr. Hopp's Playhouse
  • Through out the game, Mr. Hopp's plush form looks raggedy and off-putting, with buggy-looking eyes that even Ruby's father admits he finds unsettling. And when he moves through the house, he's a long-limbed monstrosity slithering around like a snake in the dark. And his leitmotif is an absolutely hellish creepy music box-sounding rhythm that just crawls under the skin...
  • The room full of eyes. If you are afraid of feeling observed then you should likely avoid it.
  • The message written by Mr. Hopp on a wall.
Nana looked into the fires of Hell... and she saw me.
  • The "Sleep Tight" ending, with Mr. Hopp just staring at a sleeping Ruby...
Ruby insisted it was all a bad dream and went back to bed. Maybe that was a mistake.
  • The game sometimes plays on the surprise factor to best scare the players, such as when Mr. Hopp's hand breaks through a wall and the floor, or when you suddenly find him in the parents' room as a giant spider.
  • Mr. Hopp's final form during the climax of the game, where he becomes giant and wears the worst Evil Grin he's had so far in-game. His deep, demonic voice doesn't help either.

    One Hour With Mr. Hopp
  • Being trapped in your own house with a demonic rabbit is already terrifying, but in this game you're trapped in a single room, with Mr. Hopp trying to enter from every possible direction, and your only defense is a flashlight.

    Mr. Hopp's Playhouse 2
  • One demonic toy isn't enough - this game has three of them, and they're all equally creepy.
  • The opening sequence has Esther looking through the orphanage in the dark for Mr. Hopp, only to find a shadowy version of him that turns monstrous and stretches his arm to grab her. Esther must run as fast as she can while avoiding deathtraps, and just before Mr. Hopp grabs Esther, the player is treated to the screaming silhouette of a girl burning at the stake while the screen is covered in flames.
  • The ending of the demo has Esther looking for her friends in the library and finding herself in a shadowy void with fire under her feet, calling back to a certain easter egg in the first game. As Esther walks forward she approaches the dolls, who briefly turn into their demonic forms and hold her friends as if they were dolls - as Esther approaches Mr. Hopp, he ends the demo with a Jump Scare.
  • Also a Tear Jerker: Esther is Doomed by Canon to eventually be visited again by Mr. Hopp, driving her insane before she dies, and her granddaughter Ruby will inherit the curse.
  • The Entity, which is this game's equivalent of the Devil - a massive demon that controls all three of the toys and serves as ruler of the Underworld.

    Mr. Hopp's Manor Escape
  • The protagonists are alone inside a mansion and have to escape Mr. Hopp and his friends, who now look much bigger than them, and one to three of them could be around at any time. Even the easiest difficulty, which lacks any hostile enemies, still makes you feel as if danger could jump out any moment.

    Mr. Hopp's Playhouse 3
  • The jump to 3D makes Hopp and his friends look absolutely terrifying, removing any remaining vestiges of cuteness they once had.
  • The Entity, which the second trailer reveals to look like a skeleton with a demonic goat head, is now solely focused on making Esther and Ruby suffer.
  • The second trailer introduces a new enemy: a sort of big ogre-like creature.
  • The Jester in the full game. Before we even meet him, Ruby has to go through a creepy, abandoned nursery with this thing's maniacal laughter in the background. Then we actually see him: a pale, zombie-like monstrosity with blank white eyes and sharp teeth that Can't Move While Being Watched, forcing Ruby to navigate a big, confusing maze while making sure you are looking in his direction - not only is this much harder to do when you can't see him, but you can hear his laugh and the ringing of his bells whenever he moves. And of course, if he catches you, you get a Jump Scare. Oh, and don't even bother trying to use the Six against him, because he's completely IMMUNE to them.
