Nightmare Fuel / Mortal Kombat 3

Kabal's quite handsome.

• Sheeva's fatality. She strips you to the bone, skin first, with a blood-curdling scream.
• Cyrax's ending has him stuck in the desert, buried up to his waist, fully functional but unable to move. Funny enough that he was a stage cameo in Jade's Desert.
• A lot of the imagery surrounding Outworld's merging with Earth is pretty nightmarish, especially the blood red vortex above Kahn's tower.
  • One particular scene during the opening prologue shows Shao Kahn stealing the souls of everyone on Earth. Complete with a disturbing green glow for each person.
    • And y'know, its nice that this was reversed and everyone got their souls back in the end, but man...imagine how going through all that must have felt. Major mental trauma at the very least.
• Kabal's Fatality, in which he screams at the screen, showing his horrifying true face, and then literally scares the foe to death. The Mortal Kombat Trilogy version has a much more nightmarish sounding scream, and when he screams at the screen, his head was a little closer. It’s even made a return in Mortal Kombat 11 as one of Kabal’s Brutalities.
  • There was another one called the Balloon Fatality, in which Kabal uses his respirator and inflates the opponent's head like a balloon. The opponent floats on top of the screen. An explosion is heard as their blood, bones and organs rain down.
• Scorpion's fatality in Ultimate Mortal Kombat 3. You're dragged into hell and beaten to horrific, off-screen death by a massive army of his clones. The "Psycho" Strings do not help.
• Cyborg Smoke's Fatality where he fills the arena with bombs, then the player is treated to the Earth itself going boom. Imagine the destructive potential of just one of those bombs?
