It's a film detailing experiments that took place in a notoriously horrific human experimentation facility. Not to mention, much like Cannibal Holocaust, it shows the actual killings of animals on screen, and it even uses footage from an actual autopsy. You can bet your ass that this is gonna be disturbing.

  • For starters, all of the experiments listed below actually happened. Normally we'd say "pulling no punches", but this is more like a No-Holds-Barred Beatdown of Squick and Gorn to show just how grotesque and horrendous those experiments in Unit 731 were. Even if you tried, you really couldn't think of worse ways to go.
    • The gore itself is disturbingly realistic, to the point where one could easily mistake this as a Snuff Film.
    • The worst part? This is actually them on their best behavior. Most of the "experiments" carried out at Unit 731 were done so out of pure sadism rather than anything strategically related. Meaning that we see is actually toned down significantly from reality.
  • You will finish watching this film praying that you can un-watch that pressure chamber experiment. It's so disgusting that it somehow manages to make the decompression scene in Licence to Kill look like an episode of Mister Rogers' Neighborhood. It also says a lot about how gruesome this film is when it isn't considered to be the most disturbing scene in the movie (although it's definitely up there). The subject is locked in an airtight room, and the air is gradually sucked out. Soon he's screaming as his ears start to bleed, then he collapses to the floor, and then we see both his guts and partially digested food FLY OUT OF HIS FUCKING ANUS. Also, those loud buzzing noises accompanying the scene that get even louder and more intense as it progresses just make it so much worse.
  • The man who has his frozen arms gradually chipped away with a pipe, screaming all the while.
  • The woman who has her hands deliberately frostbitten and then thawed out, allowing the skin to be pulled right off down to the bone.
  • The cat experiment. Seriously, don't even watch this film if you're a cat lover.
  • Holy shit, the vivisection! And the worst part? It used footage from an actual autopsy.
  • Those rats that get set on fire actually were burned to death.
  • The slow brainwashing of the young Japanese soldiers from relatively normal teens to sociopathic soldiers, especially as their scenes are the only ones that even come close to Pet the Dog scenes.
