One would hope that The Legions of Hell would prove scary. Kyūkyū Sentai GoGoV does not disappoint.
- In the opening sequence, for the first half of the series, it shows Earth's solar system bursting into flames while the planets are aligned in the Grand Cross. Starting from Mission 26, the opening sequence is Earth being smashed by two demonic hands which turn out to be Foreshadowing the events of the series finale.
- Great Witch Grandienne, the series Big Bad and matriarch of the Saima Family, takes Abusive Parent to one of the most extremes by Super Sentai standards. When her face is first revealed in episode 24, it was her usual expression of bored contempt. It gets played out in a The Fourth Wall Will Not Protect You moment when she starts grinning, revealing very large, very sharp teeth, and her eyes grow wider and start glowing until you can't see her irises anymore. She reuses that expression once fully manifested. It should not be possible for a face to be that scary.
- Then after her body is destroyed, Grandienne is revealed to be a spirit made of Minus Energy as she envelops the planet and creates natural disasters before resurrecting her most powerful children and stripped them of their minds to use them as puppet bodies in the final episode. She also express her intent of expanding her essence across the universe.
- Episode 19 introduces Zylpheeza's three Demon Warriors, sadistic monsters who treat their battles as games while toying with their prey. In fact, their first act in the series is releasing 100 feathers over a day that end up being caught by people or land in certain places. It turns out these feathers are designed to explode when exposed to darkness, the Demon Warriors gleefully making a game out of it where the Go Go V have to destroy them before sunset to make the feather inert. To make it worse, one of these feathers landed in the hands of a one year old. Sadly this is a wham episode where the Go Go V are defeated and a series of explosions rock the city like a terrorist attack, the Demon Warriors laughing while mocking the heroes for failing to stop them.
- Golem Hellgerus's death in episode 12 — after being struck by the Grand Liner's Grand Storm, Hellgerus drops his weapon and his body expands from the inside out, before his body blows apart (presumably from the sheer force of the Grand Storm's mega-sized bullets and missiles). Power Rangers Lightspeed Rescue had the good sense to try and cover it up a bit with a superimposed fireball
(though it's not clear why they swapped the order of attacks around), while Saima Beasts died the standard 'fall and explode' sequence.
