As a Moments subpage, all spoilers are unmarked as per policy. You Have Been Warned.

You think that just because Kaguya-Sama is a romantic comedy meant that this beloved anime and manga series is devoid of any scary moments? Absolutely not! While the first half may be mostly light in terms of the school setting, the second half BECOMES a straight-up drama involving corruption and child abuse.

  • Ishigami's semi-attempted suicide can count as well. After having to deal with being rejected by Tsubame, he tries to take his own life and would have died had it not been for the timely arrival of Iino.
  • The Shinomiya Family as a whole. Not only do they raise their children to be vicious and cruel, but at the same time, they even go as far as to turn them into manipulative monsters who would hurt society as a whole!
    • WORSE, they pretty much dictate the entire world through bribery of the police and the judicial system. One must wonder what living under the rule of the Shinomiya family would feel like...
    • Oko Shinomiya fits this in general. He seems to be an easygoing dude, only to drop this act when he doesn't get what he wants. He even tries to marry Kaguya off to the Shijo family simply for personal gains!
    • Un'yo Shinomiya's appearance is JUST UNSETTLING. When one looks at his eyes, one could tell that he has the eyes of a monster who has no value for life (although ironically, he is considered to be much nicer in comparison to his brothers who are complete assholes).
  • Speaking of the Shinomiya Family, the Shijo's family's rise to power can be said as this. They separated from the Shinomiyas due to their cruel personalities when WHAT THEY'RE DOING is no different from the actions of their parent family! This is shown when they used the same manipulative tactics from the Shinomiya families to rise in power and take over the world. One must imagine the sheer amount of horror coming from the idea of transitioning from one dictatorship to another...
  • There is something fundamentally wrong with Shirogane's mother. Every time we see her, she has the same soulless expression on her face, even while she's abandoning her children or talking to one of them about how doing so ended up being a good thing in the end. It's hard to blame Kei for being so uncomfortable around her with how inhuman she acts.
