- Jann's near-fatal crash, which results in his hospitalization, and is sadly all too common with real life racers. The reaction on his mother's face says it all. When Jack warned racers that while they can simply reset in the game if they miss a line, if they miss it on the actual track, they could die, he wasn't kidding. Worse, when we see Jann in the hospital, we later learn that a spectator was killed in the crash. Not helping much is that this was an actual accident the real Jann Mardenborough was involved in.
- To make matters worse, the crash takes place in Nürburgring's Nordschleife course, one of the longest racetracks in the world next to Le Mans in France and Spa-Francorchamps in Belgium. Matters also not helped that the Nordschleife course is (in)famously called the "Green Hell". Nürburgring itself has a track record of racing related fatalities in the past. And the death of said spectator, who goes by the name of Andy Gehrmann, marks the first instance of a race accident that killed a spectator.
