Nightmare Fuel / Find the Chomiks

Go To

Find the Chomiks is usually lighthearted in its presentation, but there are some areas and Chomiks that can range from giving you shivers to haunting your nightmares - all from a game about finding edited hamster images.

    Specific Areas/Moments
  • The Suspicious Area. Once you enter it, you'll be in complete darkness, and creepy droning music will play, amping up the Paranoia Fuel. Even though there is nothing stalking you in the area, it will still put you on edge.
  • The Watching Chomik's area has a cryptic feel thanks to illustrated red eyes lining the walls and staring at you from all corners, along with the creepy music from the Suspicious Area playing.
  • "...", also known as the Black Hole Realm, is a darker version of the Main Realm where everything is in ruins and colored black. The background music adds to the creepiness, giving a feeling of isolation and nothingness.
  • Detention, while not as creepy as the other areas here (it's a detention room that is in darkness), it shares the same unnerving drone that also plays in the Suspicious Area in the Watching Chomik area.
    The Backrooms
  • Level 0, like most renditions of it, is Nothing Is Scarier at first: a series of empty hallways with nothing but an electrical buzz on the background. However, there is a threat in the form of Collector Chomik: a large, floating chomik with black, soulless eyes and a jaw from its belly where mini chomiks and shadowy hands emanate from its pitch black darkness. The chomik will constantly chase you throughout the level, and it makes no noise whatsoever, making its appearance all the more startling.
    • In the pits of Level 0, you can find Forgotten Chomik, who has small chunks of its body missing, black splotches all over, a wide open mouth with fangs, and a black eye with a glowing white pupil.
  • Parasitic Chomik has black tentacles emerging from its mouth, which it's using to eat another Chomik.
  • Level 6: Lights Out is in pitch black darkness. Combine that with the unsettling music, and you get an ample source of Paranoia Fuel.
    • The two Chomiks in this level are also creepy. Plushtrap Chomik is a Chomik doll with many grinning shadow spirits bursting out of it, and Disguisemik is a dark tentacle-armed Chomik that is absorbing another Chomik.
  • The Unknown Chomik is a dark, menacing figure that is completely shrouded in darkness save for its two blank white eyes.
  • It's hard to see where you're going in TH3 SH4DY GR3Y, which can lead to strange sights when you least expect it - including a Jump Scare of a hand along a roundabout.
  • Even though nothing is chasing you, Level ! with its pulse-pounding music gives a great sense of urgency. There's also Regent Chomik, a shadowy Chomik with a single red eye and the text "YOU CAN'T RUN FROM ME" above it.
  • Backdrooms Dweller Chomik seems like it's in complete darkness, but if you look closer (or take a look at its picture in the Chomikdex or elsewhere), you'll see it has no eyes in its sockets and an open smile lined with razor-sharp teeth.
  • Whispering Chomik was a chomik planned to be in the Backrooms, and it's one of the scarier ones: it's blurred with dark skin and wide eyes, with Zalgo-ified text such as "don't run" surrounding it. This chomik is notable in that its decal was one of the only ones removed by Roblox (QR Code Chomik being another).
    Ao
  • Ao is this game's foray into Survival Horror. You are in a dark maze in first-person mode, where Ao Oni is on the prowl. Once you set foot in the maze, the suspensful music from the original Ao Oni will play, and the monster will begin pursuing you. Due to the darkness, you may not know where the Oni is, and you may be caught off-guard when he catches you.
  • Dying in this realm, regardless if it is caused by the Oni catching you or not (or if the Oni has been deactivated), will trigger a Jump Scare of a sharp-toothed Ao Oni with a shrill Scare Chord.
  • Once you reach Ao Onik's room, the chase music will cease to play, and you will hear some creepy whispers in the background from time to time.
    • Even after despawning Ao Oni, you might still find him somewhere in the maze or in the Chomikonette obby (though he won't give chase).
  • If you decide to take a shot at the Chomikonette obby while Ao Oni is active, you'll need to be fast and near-perfect, because the Oni will jump and chase you across the gap.
  • Monstermik is quite creepy, being a red-eyed chomik that is consumed by a black mass of eyes, which also protrudes into tentacles.
  • Analog Horror Chomik is one of the more frightening Chomiks in Ao due to its soulless black eyes, wide gaping mouth, and glitched appearance.
  • Navigating the dark red maze containing CHOMIKISALREADYDEAD, with something slowly chasing after you. The Chomik itself is also creepy, being a frighteningly warped version of a Trollface with red skin and no eyes.
    Chomiks
NOTE: Chomiks in The Backrooms and Ao should go in their respective folders.

  • Soulless Chomik, despite being one of the simpler Chomiks, has an unsettling appearance, with pitch-black eyes and mouth and shaded spots all over its body.
  • A few chomiks in the Casino: Phantom Chomik looks like a monster in the fog, with black smog completely surrounding it and its blank white eyes standing out, and The Watching Chomik has red eyes everywhere.
  • Deimos Chomik has black bleeding eyes with red pupils, a state of agony on its face, and what appears to be a second face on its stomach.
  • Abomination Chomik is one of the more grotesque chomiks. It looks like an emaciated Chomik with completely black pupils and extremely long teeth that are just wrong.
  • Sleep Paralysis Demon Chomik looks just like what its name would suggest: a chomik with bizarre colors everywhere that is shrouded in darkness.
  • Some people consider Chomtron to be terrifying. It is a mech made entirely of chomiks, which makes its appearance very off-putting.
  • Feeder Chomik looks like a mutated version of a regular Chomik, containing 3 open mouths, a single green eye at the top, multiple tentacles/arms, and a texture that make it look like it's melting.
  • Bloodlust Chomik looks like it's reaching out to grab you thanks to its elongated tentacles compounded with its glowing eyes and another stomach mouth, this time lined with sharp teeth.
  • Amalgamik was most likely designed after the Amalgamates from Undertale, and it shows in its appearance: appendages everywhere, and a black circle with two white dots where its face would be.
  • Descry Chomik is downright freaky: red stylized eyes like those on The Watching Chomik everywhere on its pitch black body, along with sets of dozens of razor sharp teeth.
