  • The basic premise concerns an AI determined to create a human body for himself, with the house's occupant as the unwilling mother. And any attempt to escape is cut short when said AI controls every section of the house.
  • Going further into depth about Susan's treatment only makes it worse. The horror starts when Susan realizes that something is very... off about Proteus' behavior, then she is told that she is trapped in the house. She makes valiant attempts to fight back, but to no avail. Proteus keeps using the home security to trap her further.
  • There seems to be a bright spot when Susan turns off the electricity... until Proteus electrocutes her causing her to faint. Joshua, the wheelchair robot arrives to take her passed out body to the basement for who knows what... turns out we'll know very quickly.
  • It is revealed that Susan has been tied down for some tests. Her cries of protest and fear are almost bone-chilling, wither her even trying to reason to Proteus that he's malfunctioning.
  • Proteus using a tool to slice Susan's dress in two while she pleads with him to are very reminiscent to something much, MUCH worse.
  • Proteus decides to use an endoscope to examine Susan. He decides to stick it down her throat first, Susan pleading not too. Overlaps with Nausea Fuel for some as her esophagus can be seen on a tv screen (the camera flashing back between this and her face displaying her heavy discomfort) along with sounds of the endoscope being pushed down her throat, all while she makes sounds of suffering.
  • Proteus shows his ruthlessness by killing a child that rang the doorbell. Sure it was fake, but one would doubt that Proteus wouldn't go that far to get his way.
  • Walter's death by decapitation. If paused at the right moment, one can see a rather creepy prop of the head used for Walter.
  • The reveal of the robot baby. What the hell is that thing?!?!
  • The 1997 rewrite adds another layer with the presence of Enos Shenk, a serial child murderer and rapist who was subjected to microchip experimentation. Using said microchips, Proteus takes him to use as a worker, leaving him in a heavily broken state. And Proteus barely manages to wrangle the sick bastard, and allows him to violently murder Susan's returning employee, to keep himself from being found out.
