Examples

  • As is tradition with Danganronpa, the executions themselves are terrifying:
    • Mahiru's execution: High School Never Ends (Unless You're the Blackened). Mahiru is tied up in a chair by "faceless" people, who then proceed to add rockets to the arms of the chair using duct tape and lighting the fuse, sending Mahiru riding down a hallway at massive speeds. Mahiru accidentally causes one of the rockets to fall off, which sends her spinning rapidly and violently along the hallway. After being completely covered by pink slips, she bursts out of the hallway, landing outside of the school building she's in, onto "red ground". After realizing that her hand is bloodied, the camera showing the execution pans out, revealing that she's on a massive desk, occupied by a faceless marking papers with images of the other ultimates, labeling them "on time", except for Nagito's and Mahiru's. As a clock on the wall passes from 12:00 to 12:01, the faceless stamps Mahiru's paper as "late", crushing the girl in the process.
    • Leon's execution: Leon Calling (God Save the Queen this is Going to be Brutal). Leon is dragged by a chain through the streets of a city, narrowly avoiding collisions with vechicles. He gets dragged up a massive clock tower and tied to the big hand of the clock. Suddenly a bus arrives, carrying faceless that are dressed up mostly as tourists, as well as a stand. A group of faceless prepare some instruments, as two speakers are placed right next to him in such a way as to go right into his ears. The faceless with instruments start playing, with the event starting off as a normal concert and Leon only being uncomfortable, but slowly getting more chaotic with faceless attacking each other and escallating into a full blown riot, with them breaking and vandalizing everything around them, and all the while Leon starts bleeding from his ears. As the faceless start throwing Molotov cocktails, one strikes the clock tower, setting it ablaze. As the riot continues throughout the city, it is made clear that Leon has died.
      • The ending of the execution deserves special mention:]]
Narration: (...)it's clear that the Ultimate Musician has long perished.
        Narration: The evidence?
Narration: The fact that he isn't struggling anymore, and the sight of blood pouring out of every hole in his head, including the two new ones where his eyes used to be.
    • Toko's execution: Fahrenheit 452 (Mechanical Dogs and Bats rule the Intergalactic Zoo). Toko is locked in a cage held above an arena. There's a couple of faceless on each side of the arena, with some keeping what are described as "monsters with glowing yellow eyes", while the others are trying to hold down a cage that's bouncing around. The faceless near the steel door start turning a crank, releasing 8 mechanical dog-like creatures that gather around Toko's cage and try to reach her. A countdown starts and once it reaches 0, the cage opens, intending to send Toko to her death. She manages to hold on to the cage, however the bouncing cage is unlocked, revealed to be robotic bats, which start attacking her. After a long struggle, she lets go of the cage, falling right into the jaws of one of the dogs. As the hounds start coming towards her, the execution cuts to a picture of a Quokka, having been deemed too brutal In-Universe. After the screen returns, we are treated to the lovely imagery of the hounds, bloodied and playing with bones, with a skull and some bloodied pieces of clothing in the background serving as all that remains of the poor animal breeder.
    • Korekiyo's execution: The Viper Pit (Don't Get Kissed by a Rose on Your Way Out). Korekiyo is in a room with two well dressed faceless, calmly sitting handcuffed at a bloodstained desk. One of the faceless pulls out a knife and starts to motion him to place his hands on the desk. After the Yakuza does so, the faceless cuts off his left pinky finger, unnerving him in the process. After cutting off the finger, he suddenly slams down a butchers knife onto Korekiyo's wrists, severing them both instantly and sending him back against a wall in panic. As he leans against the wall, a cuff suddenly traps him by the neck, after which several holes open around the Yakuza, robotic snakes coming out of them. As Korekiyo panics, the creatures get closer to him and bite down on him, freezing him, turning his skin a sickly yellow and making his eyes roll back into his head. In addition, his chest starts to swell up, until suddenly bursting and covering the faceless with blood. After the camera pans out, a massive rose is shown to be growing from the dead Yakuza's chest. In-Universe it was so brutal that even Mono-Kaito was disturbed by it.
