Huggables
- Huggables are deconstructions of cuddle bugs: They pretend to be kind, luring you into a false sense of security so they can hug you so hard that all your bones break.
- Zombie Huggables, just look at them! No wonder that Wil is terrified of them. (Although he's terrified of everything, but he especially seems to fear them the most.)
- When you defeat a Huggable, their heads fly off.
- Big Yellow Huggables are not only giant, but each step they take causes a huge shockwave. Thankfully they're pretty slow, but how slow they walk can come off as creepy. When they are killed, they fall and cause an even bigger shockwave than before.
- Ghost Huggables can turn invisible, when they come come out nowhere to hug you! That is pretty jarring if you didn't see that coming.
Game Over Screens
- Oliver's "Hugged!" screen in Battle Bears -1 is a bunch of Huggables walking at him while he screams out a Big "NO!". And it's only shown in shadows on the wall.
- The "Ejected!" death during Mecha Bearzerker's boss battle has Oliver plummeting to his doom through outer space while scary piano music plays.
- For the game overs of Colbear's boss trial:
- The "Masticated!" death depicts Oliver getting devoured alive by Colbear.
- The "Pancaked!" death shows Oliver being flattened by Colbear's foot.
- The death screen from Tentacleese's boss fight shows shadows of Tentacleese moving towards Riggs as the camera zooms in on him, the latter of which has red eyes.Riggs: Tentacleese! NOOOOOOOO!
- Wil's "Hugged!" cutscene from Battle Bears -1 is mostly funny, though the fact that nothing is shown and we hear Wil getting killed is enough to disturb some.
- The game over screen if Spaceboss destroys the Ursa Major depicts Overclocked Oliver making a ball of electricity, but then Wil is sucked right into the ball, killing him instantly. Also doubles as a major Tear Jerker when we see Overclocked Oliver crying over his best friend's death.
- If you die during the Marecraft Carrier's fight, it shows Oliver exploding.
- The "Zombified!" death during the Zombocalypse has a bunch of Zombie Huggables advancing on Oliver (and one of them is licking Oliver) while the latter yells "Ewww!" Then a deep voice is heard saying "Zombified".
Boss Battles
- Tentacleese, a Huggable who got mutated into a octopus-like creature. Plus, his udder is alive!
- Colbear. He's so enormous that his size doesn't even fit the entire screen! He tries to stomp on you and later eat you. His appearance is menacing too, what with his messy teeth, eyes that are only shiny yellow lights, and outlines shaped like huggables on his legs. The fact that somebody as courageous as Oliver is afraid of him really does show how scary Colbear is. Did we mention that Colbear is the only boss to have more than one phase, and more than one game over screen?
Cutscenes
- Jackson getting murdered by the Huggable. We don't see anything but we do hear him screaming in pain. In fact, Jackson's death is the first sign that Huggables ain't foolin' around.Oliver: I will never be able to unsee that.
- When Wil pulls the arrow stuck in his leg out, we get a close up shot of the leg bleeding oil.
- The scene where Oliver is inside the Ursa Major's power source. He gets startled by a huggable smashing through the wall, and to top it all off, Oliver has a total panic attack!Oliver: I probably shouldn't be h- [Huggable makes a hole in the wall] WHAT THE HOLY CRAP!
- The scene right before we fight Colbear. Oliver's expression doesn't help matters either.
- The final cutscene of Oliver and Riggs has them both getting ready to go to the Huggable Planet...and then it cuts to Wil in a dark room, visibly scared with only a match as his light source. Then an unseen shadow is seen racing across the room. We hear rapid footsteps as well. It's never revealed what that thing was.
- After Tentacleese is defeated, we get a shot of a Huggable with a CGI face. Something about it was just odd.
- Abbi in general in Battle Bears -1 is extremely weird, because of her intent to assassinate Wil. Thank god that Abbi had a Heel–Face Turn in Battle Bears Zero.
- The final cutscene of Wil's trial has Wil accidentally hit the self-destruct button during a game of "Multi Chromatic Memory Game". Thankfully in Battle Bears Zero, it's revealed Wil stopped the ship from blowing up at the last minute.
- How the Bearzerker dies. He grabs at his throat making choking sounds, then collapses. Oh, and his fur is black from eating jackalope poop.
- The cutscene before the Zombocalypse. The Necromancer's Evil Laugh, doubled with his line "RISE!!!" is the icing on the cake. And one of the Zombie Huggables has his brains shot out.
