Trust us, there is a very good reason why A Serbian Film is considered to be one of, if not the most disturbing movie ever made, period. Even the most disgusting anime and manga cannot match this power.
- Leija has her teeth ripped out and is forced to perform fellatio until she dies of asphyxiation.
- Miloš is drugged with an extremely powerful dose of bull aphrodisiac in order to make him more sexually aggressive and devoid of moral intuition. While in this state, Vukmir manipulates Miloš into violating and savagely beating Jeca's mother before then decapitating her with a machete. Worse, even after she's dead, Miloš keeps on violating her.
- Jeca's grandmother endorsing the mother's murder and even offers Jeca's virginity to Miloš as a reward, "just like what her dad did to her". Jeca also doesn't seem to mind, and is in fact, smiling at the idea and then begins to make a move on Miloš.
- The "Newborn porn" scene is named like that for a reason: A baby is violated. The cut version thankfully doesn't show this scene (though it is still heavily implied). The UNCUT version, on the other hand, shows it in all its traumatizing glory.
- Even more disturbing is how the woman who gave birth to the infant simply watches and smiles.
- The baby itself looks unintentionally creepy, with a dose of Uncanny Valley for a good measure.
- Even in the cut version where it isn't shown and is only implied, there is still a horrifying Nothing Is Scarier element to it.
- Miloš is tricked into violating his own five year old son, whilst his wife is simultaneously violated by his brother, Marko.
- Raša is stabbed through the eye with an erection. Considering he was the one involved in the infamous "Newborn porn" scene, it's hard to feel bad for him.
- The final scene where a new group of snuff filmmakers shoot a scene where someone was raping the corpses of Miloš and his family. Starting with their son.
- Miloš' violent face. It will haunt your nightmares
◊. - In addition to its extremely graphic content and disturbing thematic material as mentioned before, the film also uses Shaky Cam, extreme closeups, a very bleak color palette in the present scenes whilst flashbacks use more contrastive coloring, distorted audio, and a very off-putting soundtrack to maintain an increasingly intense feeling of dread, paranoia, shock, and unease within viewers.
