Grumpy Jii-San, a retired man with a penchant for hiking who films witty and insightful reviews of anime, old and new, along hiking trails in the American South-West. He's no stranger to snark ("I saw some wild burros on my way here—fitting, because I just saw an anime about some jackasses.") or droll humor ("Does anybody even remember passenger trains?"), and he never ceases to entertain. Sadly, he has not posted any material since May of 2011, leading many to assume he has passed away.
  • Anime Abomination: He is your typical JesuOtaku-esque anime reviewer. While he stumbles upon his words sometimes, he makes up for it by being insightful to what he's reviewing, with the occasional Funny Moments. Bonus points for using the Actor Allusion and Genius Bonus tropes.
  • YouTube based Video game Top Ten List makers The Autarch of Flame, Joshscorcher, and their affiliates. Their work is quite entertaining. And now they have their own game, Forum Fantasy.
  • ricesnot does for video what Sweet Bro and Hella Jeff did for drawing, with such beautiful series as bones (not that one) and These Are the Mysteries. Stylistic Suck at its finest.
  • The Platoon of Power Squadron, a clever series about Super Heroes who try to live normal, twenty-something lives. They hit their stride around Episode (Season) 3, and it's only gone up from there.
  • Corridor Digital, two effects artists who make quirky videos on YouTube. They also happen to be friends with the people at Rocket Jump.
  • Regular Car Reviews, two car guys who do quirky (and that is often putting it mildly) reviews of normal cars.
  • Ross's Game Dungeon is a review show hosted by Ross Scott of Freeman's Mind fame. In his reviews, Ross covers obscure video games and delivers very good analysis of the gameplay. Ross is fair in his reviews and discusses both the good and the bad of each game without slipping into Caustic Critic mode. Just like Gordon, Ross does go off on entertaining tangents that make his reviews unique.
  • The Music Video Show is a comedic web series that features Kiara Strings reviewing one music video a week. Since the fourth episode, she decides whether or not she would watch the video again. It debuted on September 23 2013. The web series can be found here and here.
  • The Oddity Archive: A video series that focuses on obscure technology while at the same time riffing on obscure, strange vintage videos. Seriously underrated and worth a look.
  • 2Beats+ - Definitely a newer show, but more than deserving of a look. Two guys review discographies of artists past their popular peak to see how they've aged. The duo uses comedic tension to help drill their points home.
  • The website Mr. Coat and Friends, a PG version of Channel Awesome with such great shows as Jaimetud's "From Pages To Pictures", Animat's "Animation Lookback" series and Hewy's Animated Movie reviews.
  • 123Pendejos is a... interesting figure. He's more well-known for his Mokey and Super Waa Hoo Bros series.
  • Really3D is a very bizarre YouTube channel, filled with 3D reenactments of popular movies and characters. Current does "Último Minutoon", a series of satirical recaps of the Formula One championships.
  • Last Life: A gothic, Urban Fantasy / Queer Romance webseries about witches. Its release was probably overshadowed considerably by Carmilla, that other gothic webseries (which came out a year earlier), which doesn't help matters, as Last Life's got an interesting storyline and character motivations of its own.
  • RantingSpidermanTV is a channel about "an opinionated asshole in a Spider-Man mask," who creates reviews primarily for video games (especially JRPGs) and superhero movies. As of the time of writing this, he only has about 500 subscribers, but his content and sense of humor are both good enough that one might even consider him a spiritual successor to Spoony. Just check out his review of Final Fantasy XIII for an example.
  • Game Sack is a game review show about Dave and Joe, 2 hosts who review obscure video games, do episodes on various gaming topics, and make in depth retrospectives on consoles (let alone with really good stop motion explaining sequences) while cracking jokes and snarking both at the games and themselves. It was pretty bizarre too because in terms of its style and length it felt closer to a Spiritual Adaptation to a Tech TV or early G4TV series and nearly every episode used The Stinger for a gag. It also received no tv tropes page and when it had one it was deleted.
  • Outback Wawa has 53 subscribers even though almost all of the videos are around half an hour long, and it's clear a lot of work was put into the editing.
  • iHailzee is a newer commentator, yet she definitely has the skills to run with the top players in the game.
  • Playing With Mah Wii has been around for a while and has a fair amount of subs, but it seems like he doesn't get nearly the amount of viewers he deserves. He often plays with his friends and fans, whether on streams or recorded on video, and plays a variety of games, but mostly Mario. His videos are all great quality, too, and has a great speaking voice.
  • Chris Smoove has approximately 2 million subscribers, and a lot of games he's played under his belt, but there aren't enough people editing it. As a matter of fact, as of this edit, only one troper has done all the editing.
  • Omgarrett/Quackworth has been on YouTube since August 31, 2008 and his friend Fluffyquack/Sectus has been around since October 6, 2009. They both do good commentary and, as some pretty Long Runners, have played many games; sometimes, they play games together too. They are both highly entertaining people to watch, but Gar only has 16,000 subs and Sectus only has 14,000, pretty low numbers for the quality of their content and commentary.
  • Tear of Grace may have over a hundred thousand subscribers, but very few people seem to have actually heard of him. Honestly, he's hilarious and deserves more subscribers.
  • Levelengine focuses on ROM Hacks of Super Mario World and will almost never resort to using save-states.
  • Doraman: In-Universe. In "Who is Doraemon?", Doraman's opinion is that the English dub of Doraemon "simply doesn't get enough recognition".
  • Working Man Games from ex-YouTube Pooper Stuart K. Reilly has very hilarious and insightful reviews and Let's Plays of mostly retro games. While having running gags involving classic YouTube Poop memes, his Southern accent and upbringing, as well as Fanservice courtesy of his furry OC Dixie. And yet he has very few subscribers and views despite the quality of his content and despite his passion.
  • The video effect known as "I Accidentally X" is well-known in the logo effects community. Mike Paul made a new version of this effect called "I Dangerously Accidentally X" and even included a download link for the effect. He made two videos of this, one using the CTW in-credit logo from 2000, and the other using the Klasky Csupo logo. Sadly, this new effect didn't catch on like the original, and the original uploads have been privated.
