Recorded in 1992, but not released until 1998, The Yellow Album is the follow-up to The Simpsons Sing the Blues, also released by Geffen Records. It is the second and final Simpsons album to consist of original music; there are three other albums which feature songs taken from the television series.
Tracklist
- "Love?"
- "Sisters Are Doin' It for Themselves"
- "Funny How Time Slips Away"
- "Twenty-Four Hours a Day"
- "Ten Commandments of Bart"
- "I Just Can't Help Myself"

Another track, "My Name is Bart, and I Am Funky", appeared on test pressings, but was removed from the album proper. In addition, the original test pressings are the only way to hear half the songs at their intended playing speed, as several of them have their tempo and pitch sped up on later versions.
Tropes found on this album:
- Cover Version: "Sisters Are Doin' It for Themselves" by Eurythmics and Aretha Franklin, and "Funny How Time Slips Away" by Willie Nelson.
- Love Is in the Air: In "Love?", to the confusion and exasperation of Bart.
- Sgt. Pepper's Shout-Out: The album cover.
- Switched at Birth: Lisa's verse in "I Just Can't Help Myself" has her wondering if she's this.
